Setting Usergroup permissions

I thought we have usergroup permissions set here, but it seems that they aren't being applied... somewhat similar to an issue already posted here.

We are using vB 3.X, and have photopost 8.0 installed. We are running a contest at therpf.com

And have permissions set so COPPA members can't vote. I have checked this permission multiple times. What this is helping eliminate are people who are creating sockpuppets to come in and vote for their costume.

Well, members of the COPPA members group CAN vote even though we have them set so that they cannot. I have no idea why, and could really use some help.

What am I missing?

Chuck, I replaced that line but that appears to not have limited the ability of people in that usergroups to vote. I have also refreshed my usergroups from vB just to make sure they are synced. Any other suggestions?

That makes no sense if you have it set that the usergroup can not vote.

However there is something important to consider here by default in vb users can belong to multiple groups so are you sure this user you think is in group coppa is not a part of any other group that had permission to vote.

Also if applying to the template and your using vb3 you did edit the showgallery template in the templates/vb3enhanced folder right?

At any rate do not think I could comment further without information to check on things.

Chuck,

The members in COPPA are in the group only and have no Additional Usergroups.

To edit the template, I went to Admin then Edit templates. Was that correct or wrong?

I can certainly provide any additional info that you need.

You would need to provide info as I would see no reason why it would not work.

You can send any info to contact us link in our site header.

You would need to send a url admin login test user login with the issue and ftp info so I can add debug info to your files. See what info is being passed etc.

I replied via the email you sent but just to confirm you get the reply I will post here also.

I looked at your site your permissions are not 666 on your tmpl files per our install instructions therefore you can not edit the files through admin panel. Thus when I looked at your templates your issue is you did not perform the change I noted in my reply above and doing that edit should resolve your issue.
