Photopost 8.22 - Assigned Albums Issue

Just got this from one of my staff.

Quote:
I've had these "assigned albums" since the last time we upgraded. If I click the other galleries, I get these assigned albums and don't know how to remove them. They date back to 2006.
What do you suggest?

Thank you.

well an assigned album is a personal album which means you allow users to create personal albums and also you allow users to assign albums to categories so there really is not an issue here as you allow this.

The point is you as admin would need to investigate this and modify accordingly.

Apparently if one of your staff a mod I assume sees when viewing a categories he may moderate assigned albums when viewing the category that is normal if there is a personal album assigned to that category.

You as the admin can edit that album and unassign it. That would be under manage albums in admin.

If you do not want your users in general creating personal albums or having the ability to assign personal albums to categories then under edit usergroups in admin remove the permissions you want there for any usergroup.

This must have been done back in 2006 when we allowed that for a very short time, then removed the ability to protect photos embedded in threads. If they delete albums, then we are left with thousands of empty, worthless threads with no content.

I figured it out, thanks.

We would love to be able to allow them to make new albums, without the ability of deleting photos, so we're not left with thousands of empty threads with no embedded photo content. Is that possible?

well you can take away the ability to delete photos from a user as you know but if you allow users to create a personal album which in essense they are the admin of they have the right to delete it. That is very logical just like you as admin can do anything on your gallery.

You can delete this line from pp-inc.php in the albumli function to remove the delete link on the album admin screen. I will not provide support on this so it is a helpful hint.
