Where to find the time?

Hi,

Could someone please tell me where in Photopost I can see the exact time that it is set on.

I see the GMT offset in the Admin settings, but I don't know what time is showing in Photopost to set it correctly. I can only see a day in Show Photo Details. I can't see a time. Is it somewhere else?

I have tried setting the offset to the difference between the time at the location of the server and GMT, but it was so wrong that I think the server time must not be set correctly.

There is no clock in PhotoPost. I mean in a standalone install a user can edit there timeoffset in there profile and we show the server time so the user can select there correct timezone offset.

I know I have explained in full details here about GMT etc so without more info it is hard to say what your exact settings would be.

If your using vb or invisionboard the time offset comes from the users forum profile and you use GMT to bring your server time back to GMT time which means say a server in central time which is -7 from GMT you would put 7 in the GMT setting then your time should be synced with vb.

Now that is the only time you use GMT setting in PhotoPost when integrated with those two products otherwise all other products use timezone offsets from the server time like out product.

Thank you for your reply. After an upgrade today pictures that were uploaded were saying they were uploaded on Sunday (two days in the future). I had used the GMT offset in the previous version to get that closer to reality.

I have much bigger problems now. I can't even open the gallery. Help with colours please I'm going to have to try and solve some other issues first.

I replied to that one.

Your time is whacked out because you where setting the gmt to -24.00 hours.

If your server is located locally in your town it is the same timezone as you.

Now phpbb3 seems to adjust time from gmt or utf/utc they call it

Your time offset is 10 so your adding 10 hours onto the server time. Thus it is logical to me that your GMT offset if phpbb3 is using that like vb or invisionboard and your server is indeed local to you then you would put -10 in the GMT as realistically your trying to cancel out the forum offset as server time should be right on for you.

My server is in Perth, Western Australia and they are on different time to us on the Eastern Coast of Australia.

I was confused about how -10 could correct an inaccuracy of two days.

As we are two hours different from where the server is I have checked the GMT online:

Perth: UTC/GMT +8 hours

So I assume that means I put -8 in to the setting. I will try it.

edit: tried it. I put -8 into the setting and then posted a comment under a photo. The time on the comment is 11:45am. The time here is 11:45pm.

Yes you would put -8 to subtract 8 hours from the server time to make it GMT time which is no time correction straight time. Your user time offset of 10 hours added on will make the displayed time eastern australia.

Remember these settings are all just for display purposes the time in your database for everything is your server time.

I changed it from -8 (which was 12 hours out) to +4 and now it is displaying the correct time. The only explanation I can think of it that the server time is not set accurately. +4 is not the GMT offset for Perth.

+4 would suggest your server is located in the atlantic ocean

Chuck, when a notification goes out, does it have the server time on it or the displayed time?

No dates are not posted on any notification.

Yeah I know GMT -4 VERY WELL its its like bermuda. Being from MD in the USA I am eastern standard time which is GMT -5
