AdSense in this location with plugin system

I read the plugin system instructions but I either don't understand them correctly or did something wrong, but I can't get AdSense banner to show up here:

What would be the instructions to add adsense there?

well I would think if your trying to get an ad to show on the top of the showphoto page you would use the showphoto_top location and design your hook that way.

There is an example html block shown in the tutorial. I would think you want to insert your specific adsense code where noted making sure to use single quotes or escape your double qoutes.

I will explain what I tried because I can't get it to work.

I created a plugin:

Plugin Title: AdSense Top Banner

Plugin Location: showphoto_top

Plugin Code:

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.
I do not see the words "ADSENSE CODE" appear after I saved this.

Then when I edit the plugin I see it automatically added more reverse slashes:

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.

That is not correct.

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.
That is correct and notice your adsense code goes where it says adsense code. I would suggest you replace in your adsense code any " with ' then put the code in the place it is suppose to be.

I take it you do not understand the hook FAQ which has examples.

yes, I also tried:

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.
After saving nothing appears, also when I edit it show this:

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.

I can not really suggest anything without seeing exactly what your doing.

You can send site info to the contact us link

dutchbb August 26th, 2012 01:57 PM

I described exactly what I did above. Not sure what else to send? I perceive it as a bug to be honest.

Right but if you want me to look at your specific issue I would need to see your actual site.

I can add plugins fine here which is why I asked for info.
