| Original size... but using medium image?
After I imported my files from vbG I start testing and see this peculiar behavior.
I set medium images to be 600px, they were recreated with no errors.
Now that i enter to see any image I see the width and height of the original image is shown using the medium image.
Now, I'd want to show the medium image and allow users to view the original image by clicking something.
What am I missing or doing wrong?
Wallpaper Example: Viento de Otoño W - Galería
Gallery Galería del Osito Barrigón. - Galería
thanks |

I am not really sure what your trying to say? If there is a medium image then you can click it to see the large image otherwise the image that is shown is the actual image. Viento de Otoño W - Galería http://www.ositobarrigon.com/gallery...mn-00004-w.jpg
There is no medium image for the example your showing as that is the image here that is showing in your example
Note there is no medium http://www.ositobarrigon.com/gallery...mn-00004-w.jpg
If you where rebuilding mediums maybe you did not finish actually building them. In fact clicking around your gallery I see absolutely no medium images that have been created and all the images where over 600 pixels.
After setting a medium threshold under upload options and saving that did you actually go to scan database in admin and toggle create mediums and run that. It would have to be done after you set the threshold not right after the import as if it was still 0 when you ran scan database nothing would be created.

And why is it that the description says the size is 1440x900 and the size is 242.9kb?
I set the medium before importing from vBG. Then scanned and ran that option. In the end it said it was finished.
If I have to do the process again, which folders should I empty before that?
thanks

Are you talking size or dimensions though?
I am merely saying I do not see any medium images but your talking about imported images from some import script not supported right.
I can not answer about what is suppose to or not suppose to happen with an importer I am merely explaining how our application works.
If you upload a photo is a medium created?
If all that works then maybe try clearing all photos comments and doing a fresh import. http://www.photopost.com/forum/1206159-post1.html
I cleared out all original size stuff in that importer so it only uses the resized file see if that helps you but thats the extent of support I can provide on an unsupported script I posted as a tool for users 5 years ago.

I used the importer you told me to use to move from vbGallery to Photopost Pro.
I renew a license and bought another one, cause you told me it worked fine.
Don't know, maybe i didn't understand some of the options, I check my folder and all the wallpapers are 600px width. The medium images were not created and the image sizes for those 600px images are big.
Could it be that the script didn't import the original files, but the medium images from vBG instead?
Or that some of my settings are wrong? -image attached

All the big files have "_original" added to the file.
that's why there were no medium images created? Cause the one supposed to be original is already 600px width.

Like I said you can try redoing your import fresh and see but I really have nothing I can add about a 5 year import script your talking about that thing not the actual pro application which appears to work fine.

Importing the original images was what I expected from the import script. Either way, I checked my files and put the original files into the new folders.
Now... I see that image size in KB is quite big. The 300+kb image i uploaded became a 1.36MB file.
Do i need to tweak something on the gallery options? Or is this something related with Imagemagick?
Thanks Chuck

Obviously you where having a problem with using that import script related to original images. I therefore tweaked that script to just use the normal file etc
My suggestion was to delete all photos under photopost and then redownload the import script and redo the import see if that does it for you.
Up to right this very minute I looked at your site again you have not done this so not sure what else to suggest for you if you are not going to do what I am suggesting.

Guess I misunderstood something.
Now, I deleted the files, reset the database to the original PP.
Downloaded the updated script and redone the import.
The files imported are the medium size, now the size is set as 600xsomething px. and not the original size.
You can see the results online. Let's stay on a wallpaper category. Where files were meant to be 1920x1080. Pantalla Ancha - Galería
Thanks

Your free to modify test redo anything you want with that import tool it is provided free for you to use as I have said before.
However any issue you might have as a result of the import not doing something right is not a support issue. That is not part of the actual supported photopost application. We do not provide support for a 5 year old tool which is posted as is.
I guess that is where you are misunderstanding here.
Like for instance I know the import script will check for an original file which it tries to but in your case it fails to find an original so your issue was it was stretching your mediums out to the original size which was your issue.
Therefore I made a quick change to that script so the you did not have that issue. It is not finding your original images. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
The code in bold is all I removed from the import script to resolve the issue and allow a successful import that you see now which looks fine although yes it is using the main vbgallery images not optional original images which do not exist in all installs.
I can not say why it is not finding your original images.
Feel free to add those lines back in your vbag.php file and try again. Your free to modify that tool all you wish to do whatever you wish.

It's no use... if I use FTP to upload the files I want to update, is there an option to rescan the images?
I mean, PP can rescan the data folder and modify the size automatically, or I have to upload one file at a time using the edit option?
Thanks

No there is no option to resize the filesizes
You can try this little script that should update sizes but I offer no support for it. Like I said I do not offer support for software that is not our actual supported application.
You would need to download it rename it to resize.php upload it to your gallery and run it in your browser

That worked really good Chuck... maybe something like that could be added to the scan database options, no?
I'll keep working on that Gallery, thank you!

There is no need to add that to our program as our program works correctly.
You where trying to combat an issue with a 5 year old import script that is not part of our application.

Yep Figured that little script would help you out all it does is grab the details of the file on disk and update the database.
Your issue was the files had the original size dimenstions but the file on disk was the regular one as the originals where not being found so that was the conflict.
