| Get Lightbox to work
I recently had a professional install of PP. I can not get lightbox to show the image at the bottom to show to click to close the window.
Light box seems to work, but no image.

The issue with your lightbox is you did not set your lightbox thresholds correctly. To load lightbox you must set the thresholds so that any image under those thresholds will use lightbox. If they are over the setting then the big popup window is used. You should see lightbox being used.

I've been trying for years to get it to work correctly... still can't figure it out. It should not be this complicated...

It is not complicated in any way I think. You set the thresholds and as long as the image is under the thresholds lightbox is used. Middle view - ReefTalk Gallery IMG_5533 - PhotoPost Photo Gallery
Now as I have posted on the support forums for it to work there are two things to consider when using lightbox.
1. You actually have to be creating a medium image. If there is no large image to click and show then there is no need for a lightbox feature.
2. I do not suggest setting the thresholds any bigger than 1500 pixels as the lightbox javascript can only handle showing images so big. On large images the script can crap out and all you will see is the image open up in a new browser window. Not much we can do about that it is an external script and has its limitations.
You can see by the examples shown it works and the customer here his site works as well once I assisted him in setting his thresholds to 1500. His where set to 900 width and 600 height which means since his large images were over 600 in height they where always opening up in a regular popup window not lightbox.

Why don't you enable attachments as it would save us all time if I could just show you my settings....

Not sure what you mean customers post attachments here all the time. You can post one anytime you wish however I do not think you would need to there are not really alot of settings to discuss.
In Admin => Show Photo Options you turn on lightbox and set the thresholds as I have stated.
As long as your creating medium images you will see lightbox. Maybe your issue is you do not have medium images.
Attachments though do not really mean anything to provide support I would usually need to see need one to post a full direct url for me to comment on as noted in our sticky on the subject of what info to provide when asking for support.

Okay are you using 8.12 having uploaded all the files and your lightbox thresholds are both set to say 1500?
You could be using a pre version 8 java file. Maybe try reuploading the js directory from our download.

I want my lightbox to trigger at 751px width.
My lightbox settings are: 751 and 1201
I will update the js files but with any major update, I always replace all files.

Steve those are not the settings I noted in post 9. Your lightbox thresholds and toggle are under Show Photo Options not Upload Options in admin.
Like I said I would suggest you make sure your using the latest js files as they changes in version 8 so older ones will not work and make sure your lightbox settings width and height are both 1500 and you turn lightbox on.
That should make it work for you.

You want to set both your thresholds to at least 1250 so they grab all your images otherwise based on what I see if your image width is over 751 as your max width is 1100 lightbox is not used.
Just my observation on that and I would suspect maybe your js file is older so replacing it might help.
