can users post photos via email?

I tried to find this in the forums, but no luck.
I just had a user that has an iPad and wants to upload photos. Since I don't own an iPad, I can't explain how to do it, but he tells me there is no folder structure with an iPad, so he wanted to know if he can upload by sending an email.

I went into admin options and saw this

Mobile Phone Integration: EMail address for images
EMail address users should send their images to

we have it set for our admin@____.com but I would think that email just comes to us and doesn't upload his photo.

Any clues?

There is no mobile uploading in the application. That option was for a mod that was around like 5 years ago.

This was always a mod and not part of the actual photopost program. The developer of the mod kept it up as long as he could but the way cell phone technology changed constantly it kept him from actually continue to release it so he yanked the mod 5 years ago.

the member mentioned to me that many other websites are starting to have options for iPads to upload photos. Wouldn't and iPad be different than using a cell phone?
Just curious, since I know so many are using iPad's these days even though I don't expect to ever get one lol

actually on an ipad you can not upload photos at all or an iphone as the safari browser on those apps locks down file upload prompts.

I beleive on those things you need a special app to do anything. I can visit my gallery with my droid phone and upload using the normal upload interface.

I'm glad this information was here because I was wondering about that setting and how it worked (or not).

I've noticed that photo sites are generally slow to get apps done. Photobucket recently made an ipad/iphone app available and it works very well. That is what we will continue to recommend for those needing mobile uploads unless the PP one becomes available at some point.

If you are integrated with a board and you have Tapatalk on it, you can just attach photos. It's not as good as having your pictures within pp but it serves the purpose.

PhotoPost uploads work totally fine through a mobile phone and there is even a mobile layout.

This discussion was totally about ipad/iphone and how it locks down file uploads. Actually the next version of ipad/iphones will allow uploads natively.

That's good news, Chuck, as most people in these parts seem to be using iphones or ipads.

Iphone or Ipad is actually a small part of the mobile market in general like under 10 percent as a max. Most mobile customers that do use smart phones use android phones. Just like computers versus mac the true percentage of actual apple users is pretty small.

Now the states I am giving is just the US market where iphone is like almost 10%

If you factor in the entire world market the iphone mobile market is about .2% which is very tiny.
