Upload MultiMedia broken

Hi Chuck:

I made two changes. About 4 weeks ago I moved to a new server. Yesterday I upgraded to 8.03 from 7.x. So I am not sure which change is the culprit. (Sorry about that).

Now when I upload multimedia files (say .wmv) it is not working. I get the message that the file was successfully uploaded (via both Flash upload option and normal upload option) but then it dumps me into the category with no file uploaded.

I tried uploading a 20MB file that was already in the database and 2MB test file. I tried looking at php.ini on the new server and installing a local php.ini. I tried installing your .htaccess file as well. I have looked at upload process with Firebug and no errors fire in the console nor missing links. Error logs in the photopost folder are empty.

Got advice on what to look for?

Here is the local php.ini file:

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Here is the local .htaccess file:

well your server is not setup to allow large file uploads and I can not say without actually seeing the phpinfo for myself but make sure your post max and max upload filesize variables in php accordingly. You must view your php to check these to ensure they are what they should be.

If you get no file to process your server is dropping the file which means the file is larger than the server allows to be uploaded.

Link to phpinfo().pdf

I will send a printout of phpinfo via email as I don't have 15 posts so I can't send a URL. The pdf is 153kb, which is above the 100kb limit.

Thanks for any advice on what to change.

Steve

Problem Found and Solution Implemented - It Works Again.

Chuck - I took your advice and stuck to the server as the culprit. I noticed that the PHPInfo() did not show any changes with my local php.ini file. So I studied this more and discovered that I had a syntax error in the local php.ini file.

In case someone else plans to include a php.ini file within their photopost directory I will show the one I used and got to work (noting that some of my defaults were OK):

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

Yep after making any change and restarting the server you want to check the phpinfo tab in our admin panel that way you can see the local php settings being used by the script to make sure your changes are indeed what you want them to be.
