But child categories don't works yet

It's possible show in the menu only the members gallery and index gallery and don't show the child categories.

Because if the users click in the index gallery they expand and all works ok.

Not sure what your trying to say here. There are no open issues with PP8.

If you are trying to set catdepths in the category sidebar remember there is the global catdepth in admin index but in each and every category you have a category catdepth setting which can overwrite the global one

Is what fermachado is saying here is that changes are applied to files in the build yet the build version available for download remains the same, ie PP8.0 ??

There are no issues with cat depth in PP8 I would assume he was using an older template.

You need to make sure your category catdepth settings are set to the depth you want because if your using them they over ride any global setting.

The vast number of issues I have seen with PP8 are either because people have not read the upgrade instructions or not uploaded all the new files and with PP8 all files have changed.
