| v8.0 layout
I have just upgraded my test gallery from 7.1 > 8.0 and as per your comments in the Beta forum a few days ago have removed all the files no longer in the build. That means I have to fiddle around to get the appearnace I want.
In admin > Edit Settings > Layout Options, the setting PhotoPost main table width, percent or pixels only adjusts the width of the comments box. How do I adjust the width of the rest of the index page display areas.
Thanks
Bob

HMM
I always suggest if your trying to constrain the width of the overall program to a set width you use div or tables in header and footer and keep the width of photopost to 100%
Anyway you can also make the contents of your ppopen template and test Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

I used the header and footer option, thanks. One other question please, I have been trying to find the css attribute that controls the width of the blue border in the attached, darned if I could. Thought it was menubar but nothing changes.

Maybe change the margins from 5px to say 2 or 3 |

Tried changing the 5's but nothing changed in the layout. I checked the file light.css on the server and the changes show in it.
BTW, I am using an old PC at work at the moment that has IE 6 and the layout breaks in PP8.0, but is OK in PP7.1

Yes no one uses IE6 anymore that is so old so newer styles would not look right.
Try editing the actual ppopen and ppclose statements try changing the 5 in there to say 2 or 3. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

That worked just fine, thanks. 1% of the gallery viewers use IE6 or earlier, so no problem there.

God yeah I can not even contemplate how old that is so I checked. It was released in 2001 shortly after XP so yeah any type of modern css stuff is not going to be compatible with such an old browser and we can not worry about such things.

Just picked up another layout problem, obviously linked to the changes you suggested to ppopen and ppclose. The attached photopost-2.jpg is from a standard install without the template changes. The attachment photopost.jpg is after the changes you suggested. Seems the right has been chopped totally. Any suggestions please.
Thanks
Bob

The changes were suggested by YOU following post #3 in this thread. All I wanted to do was reduce the thickness of the blue border around the tables. I expected to find it in the css file but you suggested the changes to ppopen and ppclose because changes to the css did not work.

Like I said you can try the templates I posted.
I do not see the issue your describing if I change the padding on those templates.

Your ppopen looks like this Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Doesn't look right.

My ppopen does not look like what your posting. Moreso you want to use the ppclose template I posted.
You can download the build from the members area if you want.
