Export/Import User data

The goal is to separate an integrated UBBThreads/Photopost/Classifieds installation into standalone installations under individual domains.

An example follows:

UBBthreads, Photopost and Classifieds were all installed under domain-dot-com, each integrating the UBThreads Forum database for the users.

Subsequently, we would like to separate the individual applications to standalone applications under individual domain names.

I.E.;

domain-dot-com/ubbthreads -> domain-forums-dot-com
domain-dot-com/photopost -> domain-photos-dot-com
domain-dot-com/classifieds -> domain-dot-com/classifieds - classifieds will remain under the original domain

We have successfully migrated UBBThreads to vBulletin; I.E.; domain-dot-com/ubbthreads to domain-forums-dot-com

We would now like to migrate the User email and password fields from the original UBBThreads forum database to the new standalone Photopost installation at the new domain.

We are open to any solutions photopost-dot-com may be able to offer as well as any independent third party suggestions and/or offers.

There is nothing really I can tell you other than you would have to create any scripting to do whatever you want to do. I would suspect you would have to write yourself some special import script to import ubbthreads users into photopost users tables.

When you integrate photopost with a forum all user data comes from the actual forum so the photopost users table is not used.

Hi Chuck,

It seems as if this would be a straightforward job for your company given your familiarity with the applications.

Are you interested in the work or can you recommend a reliable third party someone who can perform the scripting for us?

If you're interested in the work you can contact me off list at: uwe@alpineweb-dot-com

Uwe

I do not personally use UBBThreads at least not like in over 6 years. The big question here is the time frame and cost. The minimum I would see this costing is at least one hour if we had all the info needed. Our custom fee is $70.00/hr and we would have to investigate and give a quote on what we would think it would be to create some custom import script. You can email us through the contact us link but I would need to see the ubbthreads database structure how they save passwords to even see if its compatible with the way photopost saves them etc etc.
