Merge Photopost and vBulletin users

Hi

I have a Photopost Pro gallery running on my server. On the same server I have a vBulletin 4.0 Publishing Suite.

All users is registered in both system, and users has to logon to both system. All users have same username and password and email in both system.

Is it possible to integrate Photopost into vBulletin. I would like that the users only need to login in one place.

How do I integrate Photopost and vBulletin and merge the users from both system. Is it possible that the users only need to login one place?

Best regards
Carsten

Your saying these systems are completely separate?

If this is the case and all usernames are EXACT you can clear your pp_usergroups table and reinstall Pro to integrate with with your vb and then in the imports forum download and run the userfix script to realign the userid's for the users.

Hey Chuck

"... and then in the imports forum download and run the userfix script to realign the userid's for the users." this part I don't understand. What should I do in vBulletin? And where do I download user fix script?

When I install Photopost Pro again could you please help me with the parameter for config-inc.php and config-int.php

The Photopost Pro will be installed in the root of the server. The data directory will be /data and the vBulletin installation in the directory /forum/

Are the following correct?

CONFIG-INC.PHP
-------------------

Path to PhotoPost Installation (must be set properly for script to work)
/customers/mydomain.com/mydomain.com/httpd.www

PhotoPost Database Host
mydomain.com.mysql

PhotoPost Database Name
mydomain_com

PhotoPost Database User
mydomain_com

PhotoPost Database Password
password

PhotoPost Database Prefix (cannot be changed once set)
pp_

User Database Host (enter same info as above if not integrating with a third party forum)
mydomain.com_mysql

User Database Name
mydomain_com

User Database User
mydomain_com

User Database Password
password

CONFIG-INT.PHP

Server Path to Forum directory
/customers/mydomain.com/mydomain.com/httpd.www/forum/

Server Path to PhotoPost directory
/customers/mydomain.com/mydomain.com/httpd.www/

URL to your forums
?

URL to PhotoPost
?

URL to your PhotoPost DATA directory
?

PhotoPost Database Table Prefixes
pp_

One more question. Is it possible to setup Photopost Pro and vBulletin as standalone, but the users will only have to login in one place (I will register all users with same name and password in both Photopost and vBulletin. At the moment all users need to login in to both vBulletin and Photopost. All my users would like to only login on place with same username and password. Would that be possible with Photopost and vBulletin as standalone software and not integrated?

Best regards
Carsten

You can not install them separate and have one login. You just can not do that. They need to be integrated and using the vb user login if you want there to be one login.

I can not tell you what is correct for your server only you know that information.

To integrate photopost to the vbulletin users you need to install photopost to integrate with vb. That is how it is done. You would answer all the information on install that is asked with the correct info.

If your existing photopost like I said has all the same usernames as the usernames on the forum you can theoretically use the userfix script from the photopost import forum which you even commented about in your prior post to realign the photopost userid's to the new vb userid's however as noted if the usernames are not found in vb your photos and comments will be orphaned and owned by no one. This is not something we support I have made tools available to help switch integrations but by no means does every instance work.
