use Photopost Pro with vBulletin 4.14 or 4.15 styles

I would have Photopost Pro integrated with my vBulletin installation.

When I try to integrate the Photopost Pro installation with vBulletin all became blank, no more menus, nothing.

My test is done on a straight vB4.15 installation with only variable changes to create a new style, that's visible on default (this can be changes)

As soon as I put yes on "Do you want to enable the vB3 or vB4 Integration which uses your vB3 or vB4 headers, footers and styles?"

I obtain a blank page, and photopost disappears.

The same style is used on the production installation, only with more plugins installed

PHP Version 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.9.1

How about number 2 that should assist.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try it and inform you f there is a problem.

Chuck S November 10th, 2011 05:18 PM

well thats what a blank page usually means your forum server path is incorrect.

delfi_r November 11th, 2011 03:25 AM

Thanks!

Solved in the test forum, located at vbulletin. e-espai.es/ photopost /

Before going to the public site a new question:

I should block new users coming out vBulletin. And perhaps alllowing only trusted members to post in the gallery.

Can I control this, for example setting a group in vBulletin and allowing to get in the forum only this group members?

It would be very useful

On the vbulletinGallery product there is a widget for the CMS. It's usable? There is somehing different in the Pro-Product or can be installed along?

You can set any type of group permissions in the admin panel of the gallery under edit usergroups for the master permissions and then under edit categories for each category you can fine tune permissions.

Thanks for your reply, I'll try

No problem enjoy your weekend.

delfi_r November 14th, 2011 10:20 AM

Now I have a big problem: there is no way to accept vbulletin usergroup memberhsip to useres and even if I change them form unregistered to registered there are no options to upload images.

My vbulletin testsite is on vbulletin. e-espai. es /forum.php

And the photophorum is on vbulletin. e-espai. es /photopost

You are free to register on both systems, I uderstand that there is something wrong in my installation and I wuld sove it bofore going to the production section.

If you need admin access to see what is done, send me a note.

Chuck S November 14th, 2011 10:55 AM

There is no register on both systems if you have installed things correctly. Your urls do not work so the only thing I can guess is you installed the gallery as a standalone. If thats the case you need to reinstall to integrate with vbulletin.

delfi_r November 14th, 2011 02:26 PM

I understand that I need to reeinstall, but the installer is faulty because if you activate integration on install you get the blank screen and to activate the change you need to do it after install wich we done.

So please: we have there a clean install of vbulletin if we migrate the real system and all fails we need to close the door. Wich things should be done at installation?

We can try as often as we need that, we have purchased the software because integration was on the first line of features.

The same problem with vBulletin, we don't go beyond 4.15 because there is a pain to upgrade. I've read that Photopost works with 4.15 so we'll stick on it.

Chuck S November 14th, 2011 02:29 PM

Nothing is faulty here everything your meantioning comes down to installation mistakes made by the enduser. You have not selected the proper information and entered the correct variables to integrate with your vbulletin forum.

vB 4 integration - not a valid admin?

Following instrucions from "vBulletin Installation/ Integration Common Issues and Resolutions".

The main function of "leicaeme. com" is holding a forum, so vbulletin 4 is installed to the root path of its virtual domain, i.e. ' www . leicaeme. com' gets you to vBulletin, and photopost is under a directory, so you access it through 'www . leicaeme. com / photopost'.

Photopost installed without problems, directly as 'integrated with...', not 'standalone'.
In photopost / config-int.php we have:

$vbpath = "... www . leicaeme. com / htdocs";
$pppath = "... www . leicaeme. com / htdocs/ photopost";
$url_path = " www . leicaeme. com / photopost";
$vb_urlpath =" www . leicaeme. com";

Now, I go to 'http : // www . leicame. org /admincp/' and I login and set cookies to path = /, prefix 'bb' and domain '.leicaeme. com'. All OK. Then I go to 'www . leicaeme. com' and everything looks fine. 'www . leicaeme. com / photopost' loads fine too (no blank page), so I assume config*.php are OK, and I'm even greeted as 'admin'. Time to unify cookie settings, right?

I go to ' www . leicaeme. com/ photopost/ adm-index. php' as per instructions and I get

"You are not a valid administrator or moderator!".

What's next?

Note: My urls are scrapped to pass my settings. Thanks for your attention

You are not installing it right still. I believe your making one more of the common install mistakes. Look at your site in the statistics.

A community photo gallery - My Photo Gallery

There are 0 users that tells me with absolute certainty you are not connecting to vbulletin which has 176 Users. Therefore the correct information has not been entered.

Foro Leica M en Espaņol

Here are our installation instructions

PhotoPost PHP Photo Sharing Photo Gallery Installation Guide

Make sure when you are installing you answer ALL the information correctly even if it takes you time to track it down in config files or phpinfo to check paths etc the proper stuff needs to be used.

More than likely your vbulletin table prefix or database information was not entered correctly which is why your not really connecting to vbulletin and grabbing information or logging in.

Make sure you have your vbulletin config.php file handy so you ensure your entering the correct info. If you do all this you will be installed correctly and when you look at your gallery in the stats you should see for users the current number of vb users there are.

There is also likewise a tutorial on cookies in the same forum as the other tutorial I linked you. We offer installation service should you need it. Our install is a medium difficulty since it requires you to know about paths permissions and settings.

All is working fine, except some styles settings that I need to change.

I've not made a real new style, only chaged some style volor codes from default vb style, to suit to our needs. But some obscure settings cause strange results.

Do you know wich variable is called to get displayed the options in the photopost menu 'photo options'?

In my case: www leicaeme com / photopost /showphoto.php/photo/1/title/subiendo-el-hispakart/cat/501?

In many of the options something is wrong as I only see something with mouse-over color activated, but not without it, and I'm unable to locate wich style variable is called there to change it to RED

The actual layout is something crude as people need it simple to upload images. In the future we'll populate with more options (calendar and special shows)

I'm using my translation file on it and it's working fine.

Thanks for your help

I can not really say without seeing your site where and what your doing. I would suggest you try our new Pro 8 beta code as we do support a more indepth style integration in that series.

delfi_r December 21st, 2011 09:36 AM

I'll try the Beta, but if you wan to access I'll send you a user/password combination.

My fear is that this will not be solved as I understand that PPPro is using vB code for the style and I need to know wich it's used in this menu

As soon as I can link to a file I'll show you

delfi_r December 21st, 2011 09:44 AM

you can see it on www . e-espai . org / gallery2 / v / album_002 / opciones.jpg. html

CHN1107M9_9975_1024ppi - My Photo Gallery

Your url is to gallery2 which is not our product I think you meant a url like this

Are you referring to the dropdown menu on showphoto?

If so first off like I said you may want to try the beta but your not using text your using icons it looks like you can turn off icons in the menu in showphoto options.

Then if your referring to the text color being the same color as background thats what I call a vb style bug you can fix that by doing this

http://www.photopost.com/forum/class...t-options.html

delfi_r December 21st, 2011 11:59 AM

I'v posted an image from my personal gallery that's the copyscreen of the menu people see.

To install the beta, first I need to install on a test server and after that when all is fine going public it's one step only.

vB bugs are there with beta versions too, so I'll follow your instructions and report.
