Is it possible that you may upload to the Gallery to avoid importing large 6mb pictures and then the system automatically shrinks them. Thus, the server on the e.g. only 2mb lie?
well yes it can if your server's PHP is setup to allow larger files than 2mb. I have mine set to 8mb and in your upload options you make sure you set your max image dimensions and to resize large images as long as the image is under your max dimensions your servers image processor should resize it and that compresses the image as well.
