Today vBulletin 4.1.5 is out.
Still no update from Photopost for the CKEditor.
I think photopost must removed this note from the homepage: vBulletin Owners! PhotoPost makes a fantastic add-on! |

You can use this template should you wish. I have posted patches in multiple threads even this one. http://www.reeftalk.com/gallery/temp...uickcom40.tmpl
No official release until we release a pp8 beta.

Thanks but for me it is important to know when I can expect a release form pp8
I think a lot of Vbulletin users what to know that.
As you know the other photosoftware programms already have update there software for use with CKEditor.
Maybe you don't like it that I push for support but as a license holder I want to know what I can expect.
If it isn't possible to update than ok it no problem but than I know what to do.
Now the only thing I read in the threads is that there is no support for the CKEditor without any date of it will be possible in the future

In a support capacity I have placed patched templates for users to patch there issue.
Your more talking product development which happens at a much more slow pace. We will in PP8 issue any final code adjustments that we feel prudent and hope to have a beta open shortly. However just like vbulletin or any company in development no one every states dates as you can not be held to them. Michael and I both have done alot of work with PP8 recently as every template set we have all 4 of them had to be completely rewritten in PP8. I do not make comments on dates as I would not be held to them which is why I do not make them.
With that said and I can not say for sure but I would think maybe a beta out within a week.

Thanks.

which vb version are you using? To my knowledge 7.1 should work fine with the ckeditor. I am referring to vb 4.x series right.

The latear 4.1.7.
Today I upgraded PP to 7.1 and VB to 4.1.7. After the upgrade, everything worked fine, but I checked quick reply because of the problem and there it was, can't reply.
The attached file is included in 7.1 ?
How can I fix it ?
Thanks.

The one in 7.1 should work as your not loading the vb quick reply interface at all its a Photopost page. The template link your talking about above is no longer relevant to this discussion as that template is now a 8.0 BETA template my site is using.
You can try the one above it should work also.

Hmmm.
With 7.0.3 I downloaded the template file you attached and fixed the problem, now with 7.1 comments are broke again.
That's my question.
And yes, I am talking about quick reply in PP 7.1 with VB 4.1.7. That worked in PP 7.0.3.
Thanks.

Uploading comments.php fixed the problem.
You should add that file to the changed files in this thread to make sure no one else have the problem.
Thanks.

LOL Actually 7.1 was released in January 2011 and comments.php did not change till summer when this thread is from when 4.14 was released
At any rate the upgrade instructions in our package have been changed to state to basically upload everything except config files
This is my suggestion to anyone upgrading when dealing with files. http://www.photopost.com/forum/1292156-post2.html |

I know, but maybe someone else like me, comes to the forum and discover that 7.1 is out, because the announcement in admin says 7.0.3 and then upgrade having problems as a result
That happened to me.
Do you recommend me to re upload everything ?
I upgrade just replacing the files the thread says + comments.php.
Thanks.

Yeah no one ever seems to read the documentation we place in the downloaded software specifically the upgrade documentation in the documentation folder.
Announcement notes posted here may be an approximate and at the time of that announcement I am sure that that may have been correct. I made sure the downloaded code had the patched comments.php and quickcom40 template so it works with the new vb 4.14 and up.
What I am saying is I always suggest and always have suggested people follow the upgrade instructions in our software which has always read this Quote:
2) Upload all files - except config-inc.php, unless you modified it from the ZIP file - to
your server. You do not need install.php for an upgrade.
| Michael or I are not perfect those notes your reading are announcements to what is new in a specific version and are not ever meant to be a replacement to following any upgrade or install instructions in the software.
I even took the time to update in Pro 8 that is coming out soon all the documentation because of all the new stuff added. Quote:
IMPORTANT - DO NOT SKIP
. Backup your database before doing this upgrade.
. Ensure you upload all the directories which have files that need to be uploaded to the main PhotoPost directory.
UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS
0) Download and unzip the latest build from the Members Area.
1) Upload all files - except config-inc.php, config-int.php unless you modified them from the ZIP file - to
your server. You do not need install.php for an upgrade. You also do not need to upload header.htm or footer.htm if you modified those as well.
3) Run upgrade.php and depending on your version, run any necessary upgrades.
4) When done with upgrades, remove the upgrade.php file.
6) You are done!
IMPORTANT - FOR VBULLETIN 4 ONLY. New plugins included in download.
1. Upload the contents of the additional.css in our stylesheets directory into your vbulletin style manager under edit templates the additional.css stylesheet in vb.
2. In your gallery directory set permissions on the file pppro_product.xml to 777
3. Go to your photopost admin panel and hit the option to generate vbulletin plugin xml. That file will download to your computer.
4. Go into your vbulletin admin panel and under plugins & products select the option to manage products. You can then use the add/import product option
and upload the xml file you downloaded to your computer called pppro_product.xml file. Once that is done your forum will show gallery content.
5. Thats it your done!!
Please read the CHANGELOG.TXT FILE so you know what to expect from version upgrades. | |
