Question Customizing Templates - Header/Footer

I want to know if it is possible to use the headerinclude, header and footer template code in the header, headtags and footer options in PhotoPost and have it still integrate with vBulletin?

I was able to remove the navbar via header-inc.php file.. however, because of the nature of our main navigation menu, I need to have different code for the gallery (so the green box is set on gallery by default). Using the Forum header, headerinclude and footer templates does not allow for this to happen.

I tried simply copying the code from those three forum templates and pasting them into the PhotoPost template options, and it did not work. Does the code need to actually be pasted into the header-inc.php file in order to function properly... i.e. still have the login menu at the top of the screen and all vbulletin functionality?

I do not think I am clear on what your trying to do but you have two options.

1. turn on the enhanced integration and use your forum header footer style

1. turn off the enhanced integration and use the photopost header and footer options which requires you to make up your own header and footer html.

If I turn the vBulletin header/footer off, the login box at the top of the page, disappears.

If I use the photopost header/footer options, even if/when I paste the exact same code from the vBulletin header/footer.. is does not work.

Have you tried using the vbulletin 4 mod that is released under the mod corner for Pro?

Ok. I installed the mod, and it's pretty freakin' awesome, thanks!

*But* I don't think it solves my initial dilemma.

On the Gallery homepage, the main menu in the header, is highlighting the Forum menu item. This is because the Gallery is using the forum header (and the Forum menu item has a class of "current" make set the green box to it).

I tried disabling the use of the forum header and footer, and using a Gallery header, headtags, footer but I lose the Forum login box (at the top of the page).

So, I tried simply copying the code from the forum header, headerinclude and footer templates into the Gallery header, headtags and footer templates, and that doesn't work (all the vb: code is displayed).

I even tried making duplicate header and footer templates in vBulletin and change the Gallery code to use those (not sure I was doing it exactly right) and no luck.

So I guess I am trying to see if y'all have any other suggestions for me to try?

Okay, I think what I need, it to figure out how to assign a different vBulletin template to $header (in the header-inc.php file).

Yes, sorry. I have kind of eliminated a lot of the vBulletin header (i.e. no navtabs). Our main menu is actually a completely separate jquery script... I do apologize for any confusion I may have caused.

But I do love the mod, I have it installed (just the part where it shows a random image on the user profile).

Like in the post above, I think I need help or some tips on how (or if) it is possible to change the vBulletin template assigned to $header in the header-inc.php file...?

Well there really is no product support for modifications. From a support perspective I can tell you your options are what I posted in my initial reply. You can use the photopost header system and put whatever html you wish in whatever header footer files you make but I can not tell you what to put. That would be specific to what your trying to do yourself.
