How to delete images that's not in the database anymore?

Hi. admins could you please have a look my account. I can't seem to post in the photopost forums. I have 2 photopost gallery license. and is verified member.

in my gallery's stats.

Image Space Used 54,742.2 mb

Total disk space used by the DATA directory 94,047.08 mb

This means I have over 40gb of images that's not showing up in the photopost gallery?

Is there a way that I can search and delete all those unused photos in the data directory? This is important. We are running out of space and really need to delete some broken images in the data directory.

There is no utility in our application thats going to delete content not within our control

Plus do not read too much into that number as your data directory is fine if you want to delete images thats okay but your going to need to delete some photos from your gallery maybe purge by date?

The difference between your two numbers is easy and does not indicate any issue at all. The image space used is simply a sum of the filesize of the main photo as reported by the photos table field that holds that number. Your data directory size is going to be the entire thing your main photo, medium photo, thumbnail all diretories and index files. That is the actual diskspace of everything.

Hi thanks for the quick reply.
A member had over 20k images over 22gb on his account. And used the option in photopost to delete all his images.

The data directory size was 74gb something, After I done that then the data directory become 94gb.

does this mean photopost didn't delete the images from the HDD? If so then this is very bad, This means we now have over 20gb of images siting in the directory that no body can search of view. That wasting lots of space.

Can we hire someone in the photopost team to make a script to check and delete photos thats not in the database? this wait we can clean up the junk images.

That would be impossible for your data directory to grow from deleting images sorry but that would not be.

You can do your own test upload and image and then delete it. Was it deleted from the server?

Your data directory stats seem very reasonable and inline. Your total image size being about 58% of the total data directory. That would means your actual directories thumbnails and mediums would comprise the other 42%. That is not out of whack in any regard. If I upload a 250K image and a medium and thumbnail are created from it the medium may be 120K and thumbnail 35K so easily I do not see any issues with those stats.

There is no such script that exists that you are looking for. We do occassionally do custom work as time permits for a price but right now we are in an active development cycle working on the new PP8.

You have two choices if you have a huge gallery and 94gb is pretty big

1. You can purge old content in the admin area using the purge by date option

2. If you refuse to delete content you have no recourse but to expand hosting.
