How to integrate with SMF Forum

I analogize if this is already posted somewhere, but I've done several searches and I can't find it.

I need to know how to integrate an existing photo post gallery to a new smf forum. I've read on one post you have to reinstall, but I'm assuming that would wipe away all the existing members and posts.

Is this possible and what are the steps?

Thanks

Yes your assumptions are correct that you would need to start over. I am not aware of any way to just switch and keep info. There is only one forum I know of that has an importer to import photopost users into it and that is vbulletin.

The only way to not start over would be to create some custom script to import photopost users into the new SMF forum.

No matter whether you do that and then integrate with smf or start fresh and reinstall to integrate with smf you need to reinstall our application to integrate with the forum.

How difficult is it to install vbulletin and integrate it into my existing photopost gallery without losing my members and all the other data?

Can this be done on photopost version 6.23. That's my most popular site, and the only one I'd be willing to spend the money for vbulletin on. I think I tried to upgrade it once before, but it went all to pieces and I had to put it back to old version.

1. You would need to upgrade your photopost to the latest.

2. You would need to install vbulletin

3. You would need to use vb impex importer to import your photopost users.

4. You would need to reinstall PhotoPost to integrate with vbulletin.

There are threads here on switch integration as a search term that go into greater detail.

We also offer this service and if you would like to know how much it would be you can inquire through the contact us link in the header. I can tell you vb charges you 160.00 to install there forum if you get them to do it whereas I can tell you our charge to reinstall photopost and install a forum is less than that.

Of course if you do the steps needed when switching an integration you can save yourself any install fees.
