| Thumnail Formatting
You will see in the attached image that some of the thumbnails are formatted correctly, while others are not.
Any idea why this would happen?

Are you setting to auto rotate your thumbnails under Admin => Upload Options?

Ahhh crap, it is...you think that is what is causing it? Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
That is set to yes along with: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

Do not choose auto rotate because your going to cause your thumbnails to rotate the degrees you set in the options in admin.

But that setting I showed above indicates to auto-rotate if EXIF info is available...does not mention anything about rotating based on settings.
Nonetheless, both these settings are set to 0 (zero) Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Long story short, should I just set the following setting to NO? Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Do I then have to rebuild thumbnails or what to fix?

You have to rebuild thumbnails if you make a change yes under scan database. Changing settings is not going to change anything already uploaded.

I would need a login yes. If your making the changes I have said and rebuilt thumbnails the issue should be resolved.

Your issue is not an issue. It is the way your setting things up. Your using thumbnail overlays which will show in the orientation they are suppose to based on the pic is landscape or portrait which is correct. You used the uniform thumbnail thing so in essense you where creating fixed width thumbnails not thumbnails oriented like the actual picture the thumbnail is coming from.
You just need to watch things like that. For instance if using uniform thumbs my suggestion would be to use no thumbnail overlay.

So the issue is really with the overlays.
Let me ask you this, should it not have corrected things when I turned the uniform thumbnail feature off and rebuilt the thumbnails? Or is it just because I am using overlays it is causing issues?

rebuilding the thumbnails after turning it off obviously fixes the issue.
