What settings to allow users to edit comments on photos

Hi Chuck,

I'm having problems with the settings that allow members to make changes to their comments.
I have it set below to 900
How is 86400 the amount of minutes in 1 day? I counted 60 min per hour times 24 hours = 1440 ??

Under Photopost Options

Number of minutes a user is allowed to edit a comment? 900
0 to disable. 86400 is one day.

I wanted to set it that members are able to modify their comments at least up to the 1st hour they submitted the comment. Right now the system with what I chose 900, does not let them modify comments at all, only myself as admin can.
Thanks
Ruth

86400 is actually the number of seconds

edit comment permissions are in your admin edit usergroup permissions so you need to check that first.

ok, thanks. I am there now is it "Allow edit own posts?" I noticed only about 3 said no, the rest all said yes.
I also noticed the option to "Allow edit your own photos?"
Does that mean if I have it set to no, that the group can't even go in to edit photo to change the title and description?

We still need a way for those who have won any contests or been in the finals to not be able to delete those files if we placed those photos into a certain category.
We are about to upgrade to vB 4.1 tonight in 30 mins, so overnight trying to make sure all settings are set to what we expect them to for when we open it up again in the morning

You can still allow edit all you want.

if all you want is a user to not be able to move or delete a photo under admin options in admin set the option to allow users to move delete to NO.

ok, I set the edit time for the 24 hour period.

Only problem is for deleting photos, if I set delete to no, then no member can even delete photos that did not make the finals. I need only to prevent deleted photos if I move them into the finalist category. Otherwise every time a member uploads a wrong version of a photo in their own gallery and wants to delete it and upload another photo, they have to contact me to delete it for them.
Is there some kind of code we can set on the server end to prevent deleting photos in certain directories?

the delete permissions is a global permission. There is no code within the program to only not delete in certain categories so you would have to think up and write such code.
