Upgraded from SMF to vBulletin, now can I upgrade Coppermine to Photopost?

I had a forum running SMF forum software with Coppermine. The forum was migrated to vBulletin forum software and works great.

I still have the Coppermine directory, with files and pictures, and I'd like to import it over into Photopost. I see the Coppermine importer script but before I give it a try, I just wondered if this is even possible now that I've switched to different forum software?

If this is possible, is there anything I should be concerned about?

well all depends on the data from coppermine because userid's will be wrong. If you do the import and the correct usernames are on the photos comments there is a script we have that may help correct userid's but we can not make guarantees everything will be perfect because your talking about different products and different integrations.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the User ID's from SMF followed over correctly to vBulletin. Does Coppermine use the SMF User ID's or their own system?

I still have the original SMF/Coppermine site zipped up. With that in mind, would you recommend I recreate the old environment, do the import, and then how would I move that over to the existing vBulletin side of things?

yes coppermine would if they where integrated

the userid's will change because you used vb impex script to import your forum data so thats why things change.

You do not need to start over because no matter what you do your going to have the same issue.

You will need to do your smf to vb import

Your vb is setup you then install photopost

You then import the coppermine data to photopost using the import script in the importers forum.

You then after the import etc is all done you download a script called userfix from the importers forum to help correct userid's when switching to vb.

That script attempts to repair the userids if it can. like I said its not foolproof here as we are trying to redo things because of changes done by your switch and import.
