How do I configure the category thumbnail to show the most recent image?

Is it possible to make it so the category thumbnail always shows the most recent image uploaded?

I understand about how to set an image thumbnail and removing it, but this produces a static result. I would prefer it to be dynamic, so the thumbnail is the most recent uploaded photo, no matter who uploads it.

There is no way to do that without changing the code in a manner to allow that.
