| How do I remove the header from photos?
How do I get the header not to show when clicking on a photo? Customers are complaining that they have to scroll through my header and ads everytime they click on a photo or details.
Thanks!
Martin

You can not remove the header from just the showphoto page unless you modify the code. There is no selective way to remove that persay.
Now if you do not want to load a header on the category or photos page for specific categories you can create a dummy empty header.htm file put it in a special directory and in your category editor place the full server path to that dummy file to load that as your header instead of the main global header. That should be close to what you want.

Chuck, I did as you said and it is still pulling from the original header.
I saved the new file and put the entire path in, but it still acts like I didn't do anything.
Also, I noticed that I am getting an error on every page:
Webpage error details

Chuck,
Ok..
Still the js error and now the header change I made that is working in the categories is also showing up on the main page. I would like the ads and the original header on the main page. I though I was only changing the categories?

For a header to show up on the specific categories you have to have the path right.
If the header you made is showing everywhere then you have changed the global header not the category header as posted above in my instructions.
Your loading a header with all those ads in it why not simply edit your global header and remove the ads.

Chuck, I did not touch the Global header. Header file is still showing May 5th as last updated. Header is still the same as it was originally. I looked at in my FTP as well as in Photopost.
I changed each category and followed your instructions exactly.
What now?

You need to change the header all the way down on all categories that contain photos you appear to only have the alternate header on like only 5 cats thats your issue which is why looking at your default header versus the one I am seeing your using as an alternate why not simply edit your global header via ftp and remove all the ad stuff

Ok...
I want the ads to appear on the home page.
But when they click on a photo, they have to scroll all way down all my ads to get to each photo.
I changed every category and subcategory header now.
The home page still does not load the global header.

The ads do not appear on your main page from what I see and your definately loading the global header your loading the header.htm in your photopost directory.

I did not write your header code nor can I diagnose your header code and why it doesnt display but I would suspect if its some type of google code your probally not encountering keywords needed etc that might be needed to make it display.

what I am saying is your loading this header right? http://www.faux-painting-murals-phot...oto/header.htm
Your ads never appeared on your index even before I told you to load category headers I checked your site out before I posted my first time. I never say ads there only on your showphoto pages
Here is the perfect example http://www.faux-painting-murals-photos.com/photo/ http://www.faux-painting-murals-phot...y.php?cat=3215
That category loads your global header just like your index. The ads only appear on your category and photo pages for any category loading the global header. Thats because more than likely because your using google ads and they require keywords to show. At least thats just a guess there
To be sure your loading your global header on the index write some simple line before all your ad stuff which says like THIS IS MY GLOBAL HEADER. You will see your using the global header its your google stuff thats not loading.

Chuck,
I would of never had to go through each category and change the header, if it was going to do it globally. I could of just changed the global header.
my global header text from the site is still there under "header" in the admin panel. That is what I want to show on the main page only!
I am not using any "Google" ads. I don't even know what they are.
My global header is: http://www.faux-painting-murals-phot...oto/header.htm
but that is not what is loading on the index page.
The new header from the new directory you had me create is loading on the index page
That header is:
faux-painting-murals-photos.com/www/photo/altheader/photoheader.htm
I want the origunal header to load on the index page.
What now?
Thanks!
Martin

If you want your original header to load on your index then make sure your loading the correct file and it should load. I am merely saying through this entire discussion I have never seen ads on your main page.

Chuck,
All I have to do is remove the path to each category that you had me setup and it will refer to the global header.
always has been that way, with the ads and a greeting with time of day.
Beemnlike that for years.
It only changed from the index page when I changed the header in the categories.
The global header you referred to should be loading on the index page.
It is not.
Yet it still shows the global header code in the header link in the admin panel.
Toally confused now.

Chuck,
The global option header path is correct to the original header, but it is pulling the categories header instead.
Why?
