| Link color in 6.23
I am running version 6.23 with vb3.8.6
If I add a link to a comment that link just appears with white text, almost invisible. link.jpg
If I try to change the color of that link the color selector is not there it just shows a small white square color.jpg
Help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Brian.

have you checked your vb style link colors?
Have to remember vb3 style classes but I would think you want to look at your main link colors and also any sub link colors you have defined for alt1 or normal.

Chuck… Many thanks for the reply.
When someone goes to make a comment the drop down for changing the color of the text only shows a little white box.
I believe it is a java script problem but it only happens in the gallery itself and not on the forum.
The templates in the vbulletin have been checked and there are no photo post templates within the vb style since I am using the Pro version and not the vbgallery version.
The rest of the forum has been checked and all the drop downs work just fine on the custom style.
I have attached a screenie of the drop down that does not work. drop_down_issue.jpg
Many thanks,
Brian.

Do you have any hacks installed?
is it only links or the whole text of the comment so concrete real examples in the form of a url are best and maybe a test user login

Yes there are hacks installed.
Its not just links its any text that you try to place into the editor, you do not have to have text in the editor and click the drop down and it does not work.
It's the same way in the default style.

feel free to post a url and test login
You can clearly see we run vb3 here and I do not see any issues with the default style and our program which runs on our site here.
My suggestion is to also try turning off your plugin system.

I posted a comment using the default style I can see the comment. I cant change the color as there is no ability to do that because the dropdown doesnt work. I would assume that has to do with a relative path issue to a vb file in whatever template pulls the interface.
I will see if I can pull anything up in the archives.

No I do not see anything in the archives about vb color boxes. I would suspect knowing of that huge vb bug thats always existed meaning they use relative links that this is the issue. whatever file is used to pull up that box probally uses a relative link to a file to generate that box and probally needs to be a full url.
I will pass it along to Michael to see if he has any ideas.

I also don't know if upgrading can help but you are behind a few versions. If anything you would want to upgrade to the 7 series for the SEO features.

Updated as you suggest but it has made no difference, looks like this is a problem that is going to get away.

You sure its not a hack issue? Reason I ask is I tried our very site here which is using vb3 and the color thing works.

I disabled the hacks one by one and then hard refreshed the forum
(CTRL + F5). Still no luck, still have the drop down issue. I also took the default skin and completely reverted the templates back 100% to the original default skin and still the drop down does not work. I really have no idea what to try next for this.

You do see what I am seeing here on this site right? I still suspect it is some relative url in a file on your side since vb3 is riddled with them.

I would think possible in a core php file like vbulletin_textedit. js or one of those core files. The ones that load the popup windows.
The strange thing here is we are running completely clean photopost and vb3 here except for the addition of vbseo seo product and you can see the code works here.
Usually on issues like your writing about its a relative url issue.

Chuck...
The vbfiles have been overwritten to make sure none were changed but that has made no difference.
Is it possible that a change in the photopost templates would cause this if so, how do we get the default templates for Photopost back into place?
Brian.

I do not beleive it has to do with our templates. Like I said looking at our application here the thing seems to work with vbulletin 3.
We do not have older code only 7.03
You can try upgrading and using a default vb and photopost setup like we do here otherwise you can always elect to use the basic editor box not advanced.
