How Come...

When you click on some of our files, you get the animated viewer, where the background dims, then the photo displays (is this the Flash viewer?).

On other files, when you click on it, it opens a new window and displays in there.

In an ideal world, we'd like the first way, as it's far more elegant.

Any ideas?

I would suspect you are referring to the lightbox which which is probally set to display on files under the lightbox dimension you set in admin show photo options whereas if the photos are larger the standard popup window is used.
