Can't watermark .GIF's?

It appears that you cannot apply a watermark overlay to images uploaded in .GIF format?

On the fly watermarking and version 7.02

If I upload the same watermark in .gif format (having ,.gif as an available format) it doesn't apply the watermark at all at any time. But if I upload the same image as a .jpg format, it does. I assumed it wasn't available to watermark on the fly .gif

Does the top of your watermark.php look like this as this is what I show in 7.02

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Your watermark is a png image correct?

I think I used the wrong wording.. What I meant to say is that it appears that if you try to upload a .GIF file, the watermark doesn't want to apply to it (on the fly).

I meant the images uploaded.. when I reread my message it sounded like I was saying that the watermarking wouldn't work if the WATERMARK image was in .gif.. that's not what I meant..

But to answer your question..

the actual watermark is a .PNG file yes.
When I go to upload images in .GIF format, it seems that it doesn't want to overlay the watermark. And if I upload the same image in .JPG format (larger in filesize :-( ) it works.

My watermark.php

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

watermarking on the fly is something done when you view a photo not upload so if your having issues when uploading I doubt it has to do with the watermark on the fly.

Lets back up a little. Please tell me exact error messages etc and or show a url depending on the issue.

The is no error. It just doesn't display the watermark over the image at ANY TIME while viewing the image IF it is a .GIF.

I can't post the link as I don't want the link to be google indexed and showing the new site before it's ready unless I can PM you the 2 links.
