I think I used the wrong wording.. What I meant to say is that it appears that if you try to upload a .GIF file, the watermark doesn't want to apply to it (on the fly).
I meant the images uploaded.. when I reread my message it sounded like I was saying that the watermarking wouldn't work if the WATERMARK image was in .gif.. that's not what I meant..
But to answer your question..
the actual watermark is a .PNG file yes.
When I go to upload images in .GIF format, it seems that it doesn't want to overlay the watermark. And if I upload the same image in .JPG format (larger in filesize :-( ) it works.
