Click on image to view larger image not linked?

I just upgraded a photopost install on my smaller site to 7.02.

One odd thing is that I'm now seeing photos which have
Click on image to view larger image
under them but you can't click the image (no link.)

Under photo upload options I (still) have
Trigger medium graphic height and width
An uploaded larger than this will create a medium image of this size. 720

The medium image being displayed is 720 pixels, and under the photo it states Filesize: 25.3kb, 1059.8kb · indicating to me photopost is aware of the larger image there (by the second size figure.)

What am I missing? (this site was at 5.21 before following the upgrade step through the steps to 7.02 with no errors during the process.) I've customized the header.htm footer.htm and head_tags.htm.

Edit:
the page source looks like this:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Notice there is a trailing </a> but no actual <a href link. Any ideas?

In admin show photo options set the option to show the large in a popup window to yes.

Thanks. I set popup window to yes and now the larger image does popup in a popup window fine. (I tend to hate opening new windows, so I didn't think of trying this as before I just showed the fullsize images the same as the medium images, but you know, I have to admit, the popup for this isn't bad.)

yes the old way of doing it made two urls to the same image so with the new SEO in the new version there is no duplicate urls to images.
