Arrow Exif

I have EXIF enabled in the admincp

"Display and extract EXIF information from images?" set to yes

but in the photo option menu it does not display the link..
where else does it display

what else needs to be turned on ...?

I have the correct path to jhead
and jpegtran

I did "Check here to rescan photos and save EXIF information."
finished with no errors

What am I missing

thanks

If a photo has exif and jhead is working you should see a link

http://www.reeftalk.com/gallery/Memb...-DSCN0908.html

I dont think your missing anything

Path to jhead something like this but needs to be the correct full path

/usr/bin/jhead

Then the yes no switch to extract exif in upload options

thats all there is to it really

I read around a little more
and it seems if this option is set to yes
If photo upload width or height exceeds maximums, resize upload down to max dimensions?

it seems strips all the exif info from the photo..
..any way around this ?

these camera this day and age take huge pictures

unless you have t3 it will take for ever to load ..

so people where complaining so I use this option...

exif info is done before any image resizing so that can not be the problem

resizing is done after exif is taken from a photo.

I uploaded the same picture maken sure the exif info was in the photo before uploading it ..
with this option off
"If photo upload width or height exceeds maximums, resize upload down to max dimensions?"
and the max size increased
and the exif info was there

if I use the resize option
no exif info

your correct.. my bad..
now that I resolved that jhead is working
My problem may be I can't add exif to the older photos I guess
I downloaded a photo and the exif info is still in the photo
but it will not display the exif link to display the info..
I did do the database scan for exif info but it still don't display

and the photo I tested must of been before it was turned this option on..

If there is no exif info to extract because you where using jpegtran to strip the header info sure you cant grab old exif info because it no longer exists. Only if exif exists on a photo can you go back and get it.

should I pull usr/bin/jpegtran?
is that what is does
does it strip automatically ?
whould I have to have that set to strip ?

I only since added jhead and jpegtran this last update
It was never on the server so it's only been a couple of weeks since I added the full path to these..

seems all my images are stripped

would doing a db scan "Check here to rescan photos and save EXIF information."
would have stripped them with usr/bin/jpegtran in place

I tried to upload a couple and replaced with the same image but it still don't have the info for exif..

good thing is that PP works like it should and jhead is installed correctly..
and I learned something new again..

No Hippy the stuff was stripped when you initially uploaded the image since you did not do exif before.
