Linking Galleries and Comments

Hello:

Is there a way to link galleries and comments?

i.e. - I post a photo. When uploading I select two different galleries to upload to - my personal gallery and a team gallery. Someone leaves me a comment in my personal gallery but it doesnt show up on the copy in the team gallery. Is there a way to link the it so the comment shows up on both copies?

Thanks so much!

Comments are on specific photos so if you allow copies to be made they are unique photos with there own comments.

Not sure what your comment means because if a one photo is in several categories it is copied that is how it works.

if you do not want photos copied to additional categories then you can turn off that option in admin upload options.

Thank you Chuck -

What I really need to know is.... How do I keep a photo from being copied so that comments left stay with the photo, but the photo can be seen in different categories?

I am totally new to the admin. side of a photo gallery - so apologize if I am using the wrong term, so I am including links of examples of what I am trying to accomplish.

Here is an example of what I mean, and what I am trying to achieve:
Splitcoaststampers Galleries: Stampin Up, Scor-Pal, Hanna Stamps, Unity, Gina K, Flourishes, Stamping Bella, Verve, Crafty Secrets, My Favorite Things, Sugar Nellie & More

How is this done? Is this done by code or keyword searches?

This gallery (and I am under the understanding that this gallery uses PhotoPost), has photos that are uploaded and not copied, because the comments stay with the photo no matter what category the photo is viewed in..... and there are 100's of different categories to choose from. For example, this card:

Merry & Bright by jmasse - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

is found in several different "galleries" when I search using the keywords [Keywords: kss kssdt kitchensinkstamps christmas FTL118 CAS] (or am I using the wrong term?).

Maybe my question is....... How do I set up my gallery index page, to look like there different "categories" but really they are different areas of broad keyword that user can enter to view a particular grouping of photos???

Ex: by name A to Z, by occasion, by season, etc.

I hope this make sense ..... and thank you so much in advance!!!

That gallery may use an old photopost but its customized.

I can tell you how our copy thing works.

There is an option in the program to allow a photo to be copied to 2 optional categories. The way this works is the photo only exists in one place but 3 inserts are done into the photos table. Now what this means is each photo is its own photo in its own right. Therefore all 3 photos are separate photos which have there own comments. You can move them to other categories doesnt matter. However each photos comments stay on each photo.

So really you can not compare it to that site because that site is very very customized.
