| Help..Photo Uploads
eeekk I am getting ready to open up on Monday and have a few issues.
For some reason when I load up a picture it no longer restricts the size and they are loading up huge.....Why ?
I have not changed any setting since I last worked on the gallery a few weeks ago.
Also a warning shows up but disappears so quickly I don't have time to jot down what it says. Digi Creative Team - Fortheluvofart Gallery
the home page shows up fine: A community photo gallery - Fortheluvofart Gallery
how do I restrict the upload size with out affecting the home page?
Ok here is the warning I am getting:
Warning: exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /data/21/2/93/15/2093993/user/2296109/htdocs/image-inc.php on line 91
Photobucket
What does this mean?
THANKS !
Norma

Norma I believe you opened a ticket on this already via email. I had responded there that your host has disabled exec so you need to in admin global options set the image processor to gd2.

I am really sorry Chuck....my Store grand opening is Monday and know if everything is not working right it may cause those who visit not to come back so I am really stressing this.
As you know by now :' ) I am not a web developer and am working on a very limited knowledge but am trying my best !
ok I did as you mentioned and now am in the process of running the scan.
Is it normal for 2 hours later to still be processing ?
What is the difference between gd2 & imagemagic..... (not sure how to spell)
I thought when photopost upload the software imagemagic was what was loaded up?
Just trying to figure it out,
Thanks ahead for any help !
Norma

You can ask your host to enable exec sure does not mean they will though
Yes if you have alot of files it can take many hours to rebuild them if thats what your doing.
GD2 is an image processpr just like imagemagick. You need one of the two to process images they are not part of photopost but server level programs.

called my host and they pretended to not know what I was talking about.
I tried to rescan after changing it to gd2 but it never completed...I only have about 30 pictures so Iam guessing it should not have taken that long.
I am going to give it one more try, but.........
Chuck if I can't get it to work ..... I am asking this out of sheer desperation ....
Do you think reinstalling it might help?
I guess I can stay up all night Sunday to try to reconfigure it to the settings I have made.
I just know if I could not get it working properly come monday morning it would be devastating for my business.

well what is it your trying to do
reinstalling is not going to make a server error go away. Your host does not allow exec which means you can not use mogify jhead jpegtran or any server level program. You must use GD2

"what seems to work for you" Chuck...reinstalling idea or the gallery.
in the gallery the home page thumbnails are fine: A community photo gallery - Fortheluvofart Gallery
Its the immediate upload pictures and albums: Layouts - Fortheluvofart Gallery
look how HUGE these images are loading up.
they should be falling onto the restricted size I set at 600dpi
and they are not.
Well I switched it to gd2 and am running the scan.....will let it do its job while I sleep. Hopefully in the morning it will work.
Chuck I am trying to think ahead as I do not have much time....if it does not work, what would my options be ?
Thank You,
Norma

if I edit the photo and rebuild a thumbnail works fine
you have settings all messed up in admin upload options think I fixed that for you.
If you use GD2 to process images you will need to give more memory to PHP like this Bulk Upload & Processing |

Thank You Chuck for helping me.
I am really stressed and it is so important to me to put my best
foot forward tomorrow.
I deleted all my images and am in the process of re uploading thumbnails.
and
I just got this warning what does this mean:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 15552 bytes) in /data/21/2/93/15/2093993/user/2296109/htdocs/image-inc.php on line 116
on one of my uploads...what does this mean?
Also Chuck.... I look at the galleries offered in your sample customers and they all have medium pictures on their homepages.
I dont want anything huge. I dont want anything small. I just want a medium picture at at about 300 dpi...150 is sooo little !
So I just changed it to 325 and why is it showing up so blurry?

This is rediculous CHuck !
Now it wont let me upload anything and I keep getting this error
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 15552 bytes) in /data/21/2/93/15/2093993/user/2296109/htdocs/image-inc.php on line 116
It says there are 3 in my queue but when I go into my admin to delete it is hsowing nothing.
I cannot even load anything up any more.
This should not be this difficult !
