Previous / Next Photo links behaving erratically

Hi Chuck,

I'm experiencing some erratic behavior. Before posting here I made sure to re-upload the original files showphoto.php and showphoto.tmpl just to make sure but the problem was still there.

I have a gallery with a bunch of photos named ft001, ft002 ft003 etc (see attached). If I view the first photo and click next, it jumps to ft007. When viewing ft007, the next link is gone as if its the last photo in the gallery I can only click previous. Its like the next button is on shuffle.

Do you have any idea what would be causing this behavior? In the first photo I have moused over the next link so you can see the alt text and the link in the bottom pane of the browser.

Hard to say without an actual links. The next prev links do vary depending on the condition of info passed.

What info do you need in order to better diagnose the situation? I'll do my best.

Image links are not automatically numerically ordered as your category sort can also change the way things are ordered. try making your category sort latest to see how that works for you

I don't understand what you mean. In the photo of the gallery view I posted, the photos seem to be correctly sorted by filename in ascending order. Shouldn't clicking next bring you to the next photo? If not please let me know if there is a sort option in the admincp or somewhere else that I'm missing.

ok I found the latest sort order in the edit categories options. Its set to latest already.

ok I changed it to sort by title and it seems to work now. Thanks Chuck.

Glad to assist. Yeah the various conditions and sorts all affect the outcome so its not merely one query that returns photos in one numeric order 1-10 for example.
