1. you first have to install pro. you can install it however you wish on the domain.

2. you can then use this script

Heya Chuck,

i got the point ok, if i want to install the pro on the same domain with the current vBgallery there will be a conflict with 4 files.

ecard.php (both vbgallery and pro have this files).
index.php (both vbgallery and pro have this files).
misc.php (both vbgallery and pro have this files).
search.php (both vbgallery and pro have this files).
upload.php (both vbgallery and pro have this files).

is that okay if i overwrite it and replace the current files version which is from [vBgallery] into [Pro]?

i have not try this on my test server so thats why i need to know any solutions we can get.

Thanks, regards

Zurrie

Well what you want to do is this

1. Delete all content from the gallery directory EXCEPT the files directory that you want to keep until after you import because thats the vbgallery images

2. install Pro

3. import the vbgallery to pro.

4. check to ensure everything is correct all cleanups counts are rebuilt and done via the import instructions.

4. Once your satisfied with import go to vbulletin admin and run the vbgallery_install.php script and select the uninstall option.

5. delete the files directory from vbgallery out of your new pro install

YOUR DONE.

Hi

I am doing the same, converting from vbGallery to Pro 7.01 version for the best integration with vb4.

I have created a test forum. Where I have copied my current forum with the same version of vb and vbGallery - it's working fine and without any problem.

Then I have installed the Photopost Pro on the same forum, although in another directory called /photopost/ (as described in the guide).

The New Gallery is also working fine.

Then I downloaded the Importer script from:
http://www.photopost.com/forum/photo...rt-script.html

and ran though the procedures - everything seems to work ok.

It told me that there are aprox. 45500 images in the gallery, which is very correct.

After alle the steps, I can view the new Pro Gallery - but here starts the weird things...

No ALL images are visible - very few are visible - other cannot be displayed. There is only a cross on them.

The Category list is showing very very weird... I have almost 239 categories in my vbGallery - it's not showing anything in the Pro Gallery.

All the members categories are completly empty....

Clicking on any given date in past in the calendar, some image are displayed, others not....

Which im still concern is with the "vBgallery record files" at vBulletin database...

so if i'm running the #4 instruction there will be no collision data between vBGallery with the Pro rite?

With assumption vBgallery and Pro is not cooperate on the same DB tables.

Let me test this first Chuck, give you report later.

Thanks, regards

Zurrie the photopost tables and vbgallery tables are completely different. vbgallery table prefix is ppgal_ and photopost is pp_

Chuck thanks a lot for you help...

I don't know what is happening exactly - there wasn't any error during the import. The script imported all 45400 images. But when I ran the database scan to (re)create the thumbnails, it cuts the number of images down to ONLY 113!!! and the Members Galleries are only 113. Not all members Galleries are imported and not all the images are visible there either...

The URL for the test forum are as below:

Pegham - Seekho Aur Sikhao! - Powered by vBulletin (for VB Forum)
Pegham - Urdu Forum - Urdu Speaking - Pegham Gallery (for the vbGallery)
A community photo gallery - Pegham Photo Gallery (for the Photopost Pro Gallery)

If needed the passwords for admin can be provided.

Thanks for you help

well when I run the import I see a whole bunch of errors trying to import files.

Your server path for one seems to have a trailing slash on it maybe thats just it

try editing the vbag config file on the import and specify the path as

/var/www/gallery/files

If you disable the link to show the personal album index link in admin index options it will definately not show that link under the members gallery
