BBCode problem

When using BBCode to create a link in the photo description, instead of showing the text as indicated in the BBCode, it shows "link". Here's an example:

4 Sho - Penny Springmann Designs Gallery

BBCode is entered as:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Is this normal behavior?

No its not normal

I did a test entering this

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
and then even your code

DSCN0697 - ReefTalk Gallery

it displays absolutely fine so my suggestion would be to turn off any plugins in vb you have to see if this issue still continues as thats the first course of action when dealing with vbulletin. These things usually come back to hack conflicts.

This is the html source of your page

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Basically from what I can tell thats because thats how the standalone url code works.

You can try finding these lines 4423-4424 in pp-inc.php

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
I included the bold line as reference. Replace those lines with this

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

Looks like that did it. There were actually four lines of code above the // [img]. Here's what I have now:

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
That is lines 4417 - 4421.

Is that going to be okay?

yes there is 4 lines of code but only those bottom 2 get the \\2 because that is the alternate wording the first two instead of link one could use \\1 which would be the url

Chuck, that fixed existing BBCode links, but now when they try to add BBCode when uploading a photo, this is the resulting URL that they are forwarded toand it is throwing a 404:

Login - Penny Springmann Designs Gallery[url%3Dhttp://mydigitalstash.com/shop/index.php%3Fmain_page%3Dproduct_info%26cPath%3D1%26products_id%3D376]+Birthday+Bash+[/url]+by+Penny+Springmann+Designs[url%3Dhttp://mydigitalstash.com/shop/index.php%3Fmain_page%3Dproduct_info%26cPath%3D1%26products_id%3D377]+Birthday+Bash+Add+On+[/url]+by+Penny+Springmann+Designs[url%3Dhttp://mydigitalstash.com/shop/index.php%3Fmain_page%3Dproduct_info%26cPath%3D38_45%26products_id%3D379]Doodely+Do

Help, please?

test is user name and testing is pw

The error occurs when uploading a photograph on the first upload page: Login - Penny Springmann Designs Gallery
If bbcode is entered in this field, "Enter a description for the photo(s)" the error occurs. For example, if you enter MDS
the error occurs. If you wait and enter the bbcode on the second upload page no errors occur.

This really looks like a server issue here. I can see whats happening on your site

It isnt associated with bbcode that I know of as all your entering is a url. I tried it on my site and everything works fine.

So really I need to understand why you can place a simple url in the description box elsewhere and it doesnt work on your site. You can even try it here!!

I will have to do some reading
