How do I stop members from deleting photos?

In 6.23 we were unable to stop members from deleting photos, iof we wanted them to be able to make folders within their galleries...

has this been changed in 7.01?

We want to stop our member from deleting photos, but give them the option to create sub galleries within their galleries.

Can this very essential thing be done?

Thanks.

Members can create albums and assign albums to categories if you choose and you can always choose to not have members move/delete photos

These are two different permissions and they have not changed in 7.01

You control which groups can create personal albums or assign them to categories under the Admin => edit usergroups. This is pretty straight forward.

Allow Albums? Assign albums to cats?

Next in Admin => Admin Options you can set the option in there for users to move/delete images to NO.

i did what you said, then tested it from a civilian account...

the members are not able to delete A photo, however they are still able to delete entire albums of photos.

is there a way to stop them from deleting Albums?

No there is not because for all intense purpose they are the full god given admin over there own personal albums.

Your only choice would be maybe to edit the album templates and remove the html for a delete link etc

maybe that works for you and your god, but we run our website differently in the sense that any content uploaded to our site becomes our property... members fill threads with photos, then when they delete albums, we are stuck with thousands of threads with big red X's instead of photos... not only is this ugly and a real mess for our archives, but it slows the servers down as well while all those thousands of missing photos are trying to be found by the server... can you see my logic here?

how can i get a special programming for this?

can i pay you to do it?

in my opinion, this should definitely be a free option of this software.

Rob

You asked about how a feature works and I answered. remember not every little thing you want is specifically going to be in the software.

You can try deleting line 4661 of pp-inc.php which is the delete link for an album but there is no support for this as it would be considered a code modification

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
it is in the function albumli
