Does photopost pro have these options?

Sorry I want to be sure before I purchase so I have a few questions if you don't mind.

1. I have Vbulletin 4.0.1, I see that there was a blog about 4.0 being supported, though most of this site talks about 3x? Is 4.0 still shaky or are we good to go?

2. The feature I am most interested in is "photo tagging". Does photopost allow tagging of photos similar to something that facebook has? ie. when people are tagged they are notified, when someone posts new photos people are notified etc, where do these notifications show up etc (gallery format, email etc)? If you could elaborate more on the photo-tagging features I'd appreciate it.

3. Is it hard to install? I'm a complete newb to computers, though I was able to install Vbulletin somehow and make mods to it.

Thats pretty much it. If you could answer these questions for me and it does what I think it does, you got yourself a sale.

Thanks in advance.

1. Photopost Pro 7.x series does indeed support vbulletin 4

A community photo gallery - ReefTalk Gallery

2. No sorry there is no tagging feature

3. The install is of medium difficulty I would say. Here are instructions.

Hi Chuck thank you for our quick response.

I just have a couple of more questions if you don't mind. I am trying to see if this will be the right add on to my site, and I was wondering if you could elaborate a little more on a couple of your descriptions.

Taken from your description page:

"View Recent Uploads - A link to show the posts in the past 1, 7 and 14 days."

Q. When you refer to "uploads" here, are you referring to recently added photos or just the comments? Also can this feature be sorted by usergroups or for specific people? Say I want to see the uploads in the last 3 days, but I only want to see uploads from my group of friends or usergroups in Vbulletin, can this be filtered to do this so I don't see uploads from everyone else on the board (ie. the 100s of people I don't know)?

"View All Uploads - can be viewed and then sorted (for example to see the most popular uploads in all groups)"

Q. Same question as above I guess. Can I filter so that I don't see everything from everyone on the board?

-My Favorites - Users will have the ability to "tag" images for their own "My Favorites" feature. Viewing My Favorites shows the tagged images in a gallery format.

Q. Does the My Favorites show up as a separate area in Vbulletin or is it just another Album?

Sorry for all the questions, I really appreciate your help. Thank you again.

A community photo gallery - ReefTalk Gallery

You can see the timeframe links on the index to the right near the search box on the gallery

The search script is also on the photopost menubar so you can search for what you wish to display.

You can display photos by user gallery as well

Users can tag images as there favorites and there is a my favorites link on the menubar for them

These functions as you can see are on the gallery

Thanks Chuck for your responses to my questions.

I have gone ahead and purchased a copy to give it a whirl.

I'm not good with computers so I'm sure I will have questions!

Thanks again.

Hey Chuck quick question.

I installed everything fine and got to the final step (admin-index.php) where it prompts me to sign in with a username and password, however I can't login.

I also can't register, because when I click register it takes me to an error page (ie. page doesn't exist).

So is the login the one we created in Step 1, photopost customer acount login, an FPT account, VB Admin login etc?

Thanks in advance.

Oh I also get this warning at the top of the login:

"Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/username/public_html/photopost/forums/vb3.php on line 32"

This means there are multiple issues pointing to you NOT inputting the correct information asked on install.

Please reinstall and enter all the proper information asked about vbulletin in both the config portion for the user database as well as step 4 where you enter all the correct forum info.

Hey Chuck I was able to get it to install, but now I'm stuck.

How do I combine/integrate Photopost with VB4?

I see that I have the photopost control panel, but I don't know where to go from here.

I saw your site reeftalk page where everything is integrated nicely and my question is how do I combine the two programs I guess?

I seem to have to login to my VB4 website, and to get to the photopost area I have to login again even though its located at "www.mydomain.com/photopost".

I've been lookin around your site and I can't find a guide on how to combine the two. Sorry I'm a newb at this computer programming stuff. Thanks in advance.

Oh also for some reason after I installed, my homepage (www.mydomain.com) now gives me this error as well as when I click on member profiles:

"Warning: require(config-inc.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/jabong82/public_html/pp-inc.php on line 90

Warning: require(config-inc.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/jabong82/public_html/pp-inc.php on line 90

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'config-inc.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/jabong82/public_html/pp-inc.php on line 90:"

The rest of the site works fine, but for some reason after I installed I get these messages. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Chuck thanks for getting back to me.

Any idea why that error message may exist?

It basically just happened after I installed photopost.

that error would only appear if the config files did not exist.

Hey Chuck I see the config-inc.php file on my web server, so I'm not sure why it says it wouldn't exist. Any idea why? Thanks again for your help.

The install seemed to have worked fine. As far as I can see, photopost itself installed fine.

However now other parts of my site are now getting error messages. Well actually just one really. For example when I click (www.mydomain.com) or click a member profile I get this message:

"Warning: require(config-inc.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/jabong82/public_html/pp-inc.php on line 90

Warning: require(config-inc.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/jabong82/public_html/pp-inc.php on line 90

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'config-inc.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/jabong82/public_html/pp-inc.php on line 90"

You can use the user account I provided in the previous post to poke around the site.

Basically the error says that the file doesn't exist, but the file is there because the install went properly as you stated. So I'm not sure why I get this error.

I have the latest version of VB4 (4.0.2) if that matters.

Photopost is fine

http://www.favormob.com/

Your error there is because you apparently have uploaded photopost files elsewhere on your site

You would need to replace whatever files are suppose to be there. I suppose you want to reinstall the vb files there.

Ok I fixed it.

I guess my final question is how do I "integrate" photopost into my website? Right now it seems to be separate from my main site.

I am looking to have a format similar to how the reeftalk integrated their gallery within their VB4.

Do I have to manually "code" this in? Or are there some options in the AdminCP I can use. (I couldn't find any).

Thanks again.

Edit: Nevermind I found the mod forums. Thanks again for all your help!
