| Member Galleries Top Level
I would like to disable members accidentally uploading to the top level member galleries rather than their actual personal gallery under their username...if that makes sense lol
I tried to set the category to the same as I have the other top levels (disabling upload via category edit) but while that works for all other categories it doesn't for the member galleries. Any way to fix?
Also, I'd like to disable the emails that are sent to members if a photo is moved by admin/moderators

Not really sure what you mean by stop them from uploading to the top members gallery and upload to gallery by there name? The members gallery is the category that is sorted by members name.
You set uploading permissions per category under admin => edit categories for each category.

Yesterday I had a member that instead of uploading to one of the other categories which would have automatically placed it in her personal gallery, she uploaded it straight to A Moment In Scrap Member Galleries which is what I renamed the Member Galleries and is the 'top level' category under which all the member personal galleries show for the usernames....and as I said in my first post lol I tried to disable all uploading in the edit categories but it didn't work (I didn't get an error message on testing saying that uploading to that category is disabled)

If you remove upload permissions then it should be removed from the cat dropdown list
have you tried disabling your cache

Chuck, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this...life interrupted LOL
Cache is already disabled...I don't mind so much if I have to move the odd image uploaded to the wrong category, but I don't want an email sent every time I do lol how can I disable that function?

You would set upload permissions under admin edit categories for the members gallery to remove uploading permission for that category.

Chuck, please excuse my frustration but I have said twice now that I have already done that...I have also asked twice how to disable the email notification to members when an image is moved...please, how can I disable that email going out?

Hi, Lissa!
We have to stop meeting like this. LOL! In fact, I'm remiss for not posting an update for you at the Zen forum to let you know what I did with my download page.
Chuck is checking into a problem for me too, at the moment, so I will try to help him and take a stab at yours. I can only find one setting for email notification under Gallery Admin » Admin Options » Use email to notify users? Setting to no will probably disable those mails as well as all others. Not sure if there's a compromise, we'd need Chuck for that.
Regarding the permissions issue, try Gallery Admin » Edit Usergroups and set to no the ability to assign to categories.
Poor Chuck. We're relentless! LOL! |

Christon feel free to post via our contact page a url and admin login but permissions are set how I have said.
You can only disable notifications by turning off notifications in admin => admin options.

For the 4th time I will say that I have indeed set the upload permissions for the category from the admin edit category section LOL *grinz* Quote:

I am going to test if the edit to disable upload took again today now that there's been a few days in between and who knows....maybe it will work this time lol

That would disable notifications correct if your just trying to disable one notification out of all of them then you would need to modify your code according to where your moving it. On the admin side that email would be sent by adm-misc.php and in the front end it would be either adm-photo.php or editphoto.php.

Lissa,
Try Admin » Edit Usergroups, not Edit Categories. The permission to assign categories I mentioned is under there.
I had a feeling that disabling that mail option would disable all of them. Sorry. I also have the feeling I'll be following in your footsteps on that one.
Nice to see you. Have a great day!

Right. Editing the usergroups to disallow assigning categories would stop members from uploading into the wrong category, right? |

Hun, editing the usergroups only gives options for disabling ALL uploads per usergroup, I don't want that lol I just want to stop members incorrectly uploading to the member gallery top level category
I think I found in all three files chuck mentioned how to disable just the emails I wanted to and so far testing is not sending me any emails nor have I broken my gallery LOL *knock on wood*

Hadn't thought of it that way. Logic often doesn't apply. LOL! Nor have I played around with a regular user account to see what happens vs. the admin config settings. I'm about to, now that my tech and styling issues have been solved. Oh yeah, after I edit the emails. LMAO! |

Toni edit usergroups as Lissa points out is where you set global permissions To further define the permissions via category you use edit categories and edit each category.
