sort gallery feature not working

It wasn't sorted by the votes either in the category where people voted after I closed it.
If there were over 90 or more pictures since that is the most allowed per view, it would be hard to locate the ones voted in order of who was voted most.

How do I turn the feature off? I can't seem to locate it where I thought it was when I originally found it to turn it on

In Admin => edit categories is where you set either a category as voting or ratings for each cat you edit
