How to apply 'Extra Field' settings to all children?

Is it possible to apply new 'Field Types' to all children? It works with Extra Text Field #1-6, but not any of the new 'field types' I defined get propagated to the children.

If needed I can edit it directly if you told me where, but it'd be nice not to have to do it this way. The reason I am requesting this is my categories go:

Postal Orders
Africa
<countries of africa>

and we have around 8 extra fields that need to be added, so you can imagine it would take days to do this one country at a time.

Thanks for all the help recently,

Jesh

Hello it will work with the additional extra fields but only when you FIRST create then you must hit the apply to children box. You cant have them added afterwards.

Is there any way to directly edit the fields? Or will there be any updates soon that allow me to apply all fields to children?

Let me explain how it works here. If you create a new additional extra field and when you first create it hit the apply to children it will be created for the children categories. You can not apply to children any additional extra fields that you have already created because of how its coded using multiple tables and arrays.

You can edit any additional extra field you wish.

Gotcha. Seemed to not be showing up on the 'additional fields' of the children for some reason in the admin panel.

So that I understand. Now what if I manually add fields to the children, it will be fine right? Because I did not want to delete all of the pictures and redo everything, so I added fields manually to all children.

So:

Postal Order
|_ Africa
|_ West Africa <-I added extra fields here.
|_ East Africa <- and here, too... etc

that won't affect anything down the line, will it?

Nope it wont affect anything if you add fields directly to the children.

Like I said you can test but if you create a new additional extra field and hit apply to children it will work.
