Get rid of random photos in category

I don't like the two sections of photos in the category section.

If you look at this category Landscapes and Scenic Photos - PNWphotos.com

it's laid out as follows:

Most Popular (2 rows)

Random (2 rows)

Recent Photos (3 rows)

I want to eliminate the Ramdon one, it's too cluttered.

Also, for some reason, when I click on the buttons at the top of the second section, it changes the order of the photos in the top two rows. What's up with that?

In showphoto options in admin simply turn off the setting to show features.

I would have not look at the photo block code to theorize about your second point.

Chuck, that seems a bit confusing, since it's in showphoto settings but affects the category page. But it does get rid of them.

Unfortunately, it gets rid of BOTH of them. I want one featured section above the photo listing, but not two... Is that possible?

Well then do not turn on multiple featured blocks would be the answer other than altering your showgallery.php file and removing or changing the order of how templates are called there.

OK, I did that and it worked fine. I just never knew how to get there from here.

I guess maybe the problem was that I figured "index page" only meant the main index page of the entire gallery. So, when I saw "Show Random images on Index page?" I didn't think it would change things on the gallery pages. I expected to find those on the gallery pages instead.

yeah those are original options in the program. The newer option at least since version what 5.6 or so is the show features on photo and gallery pages option.
