Is this how the filmstrip works?

I noticed that the filmstrip is not always consistent. Currently, most of the images on my site are in Member Galleries (so it is not tied to a category being shared by multiple users). Yet the filmstrip sometimes shows images from various members. Is this by design? It seems to depend on the way showphoto.php is called. Let me try to illustrate with an example:

Method A

From page: /photos/showgallery.php?ppuser=123&username=janedoe

The breadcrumbs shows: Home >> janedoe

Image 1 links to: /photos/showphoto.php?photo=277&title=my-photo-21&cat=all

Result: filmstrip above "my photo" shows images from multiple members


Method B

From page: /photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=123

The breadcrumbs show: Home >> Member Galleries >> janedoe

Image 3 links to: /photos/showphoto.php?photo=277&title=my-photo-21&cat=500

Result: filmstrip above "my photo" shows images only from janedoe


I think getting to the photo via Method A is confusing... it appears as if the images in the filmstrip are all in the same gallery (belonging to the owner of the photo being viewed). It seems to be tied to the "&cat=all" in the URL.

Is this all by design or is it a bug? If it is by design, what is the reasoning behind it?

This is by design. Most cases photos are not going to be by one user.
