| pp_cache
I am moving to another hosting and moving my database in phpmyAdmin
I noticed that pp_cache table is TOOO big
I can't move it 'cause it's so big, but what's these all lines for?
I believe it's just cache and I can just create the table without it's content or smth like this but I am not sure really
What should I do?

Yes but you need to insert that dummy setting as noted above.

well
there's one problem here
all my tables are in cp1251_general_ci
and after that I had this only table in latin1_swedish_ci
Chuck S and one more problem
My gallery is in Windows-1251 and it's ok for all the gallery stuff, I mean I can read in Russian now all the words of the gallery itself
but there is something wrong with comments and names of the photos
they are in utf-8 as I think
'cause you know my phpmyAdmin is in it...
but It was like this in old place too! And everything was correct
Here is my gallery now Lost ???? ? ??????. ??????? ????? ????? - Главная
there is only one main page though... all other links lead to the old place, where my domain is actually now

Oh and... the first problem is not with pp_cache table (I have already fixed it) but with pp_captcha
it's about 2,618,518 points there
What is this table for?
Can I just create it blank?

You can find the tables in your install file.
Really in all honesty you should SSH that database to the server and use the mysql command backend to import that database or have your host do it.

I don't know how to us SSH(((
I know only phpmyAdmin import/export
So... is this table pp_captcha important or not?
I mean I need to know if it should be full or could be blacnk and it will be ok
because actually today is the last day when I can use phpMyAndmin in my old hosting(( so I nedd to know it for sure.

captcha is important it needs to exist It does not have to be full though it can be an empty table
This will assist you with server moves. You need to update your server paths in global and storage options How to Move Servers and/or Change Directories |

Sorry I had some problems in real life so... I had no time to do this properly((
So... ok, thanks for the instruction as it was useful
"8) Change storage options"
I found this but it doesn't work
Unable to create/write to /var/www/lostjate/data/www/lostjate.ru/gallery/data/355/! Check your data directory permissions before continuing.
though the data directory is 777
OMG! It ruined all my gallery... this gallery scares me so much(((
Why doesn't it say that it'll delete all my photos if i do this?
hmmm ok, it doesn't matter as it doesn't work well anyway
but I don't know what to do now(((((((((
all the photos are on their place (by ftp)
what's wrong then?
+the main problem is with languages(( I mean encoding... it was all right on the old hosting but somehow it is wrong now... though I have changed nothing! I just copied my files by ftp and moved my sql files into another phpMyAdmin base and it is quite similiar to the previous one

That error suggests you have not properly set permissions on directories. Your data and uploads directories should be 777 permissions at all levels.

They actually are 777... oh, "at all levels"... ok, I see
And what about encoding problem? And that with "storage options"?
PhotoPost says there is no photos there http://www.gallery.lostjate.ru/
Is it true? Or it is just some wrong statistics or the ways to the files or what else...

Is the table charset in mysql the same as it was on the old server? Same for your language charset. If you change things from the old setup you could have display issues.
As far as your photos they are GONE. meaning you deleted them. You had improper paths in global and storage options for your photos and tried to do a scan database rebuild thumbs because you thought you where missing photos but your path being wrong negated all the entries in the database. You would need to import a backup of the pp_photos table and this time make sure your paths are correct in admin |

1. Encoding.
Yes, it's cp1251_general_ci in both bases for all the tables if I am looking to the right place...
I can't get it... you know, the PhotoPost itself looks ok in Russian (there are a lot of correct russian words in script itself)
There is something wrong only with content - comments and the names of categories((
f.ex. if now I post a comment to the gallery, it'll look like lots of "????????" http://www.gallery.lostjate.ru/showp...hp?photo=14163
While my phofile is in good Russain
2. pp_photos table
Done, thanks
I really don't think it's a good idea to make such button in admin console
Or then please call it "delete my photos table in base" for people to know what they are doing...

1. right which is why I asked what is the difference between both of these databases as there has to be a difference if it was working before
2. That buttons fine and performs fine. The people that do as you did jumped the gun when you saw all photos missing. You first need to make sure any server paths are correct etc before you go running things. I mean nothing is going to work on your gallery if your settings are wrong.
Thats why I linked that thread
If you want me to take a look at your russian thing you would need to send through the contact us link an admin login url and ftp info.
