| "Sort by" on Member's Gallery page
I just upgraded to V7 and I'm trying to work out a couple of options but I'm having trouble finding them:
1) When I click on member's galleries and then choose a member, the images used to be sorted with the most recent comments at the beginning of the page. Now the most recent photos and comments are at the end of the page and regardless of how I choose to sort the images on that page. For example if I choose ascending vs. descending it doesn't make a difference.
2) On the showphoto page under photo details, the date, views, filesize, and quick rating are not centered under the photo. Is there an easy way to fix that?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Mike

| Sorry, maybe I should be a little more concise:
Where can I change the default sort options for the showgallery.php page of the members galleries?
Thanks,
Mike

Chuck, thanks for the reply. In the Edit Categories section of the Admin under the members galleries category I have chosen "Most Active" as the default sort order. When in my gallery I click on "members galleries" and they are all sorted by the last comment. However from there if I actually choose to look at a member's gallery the pictures inside their gallery are not sorted by the last comment.
Before I upgraded to V7 the pictures would be sorted by the last comment too?
Here's a link: *removed*
For instance this member's gallery only has one image with a comment but that image doesn't show up at the top of the page: *removed*
Thanks again,
Mike

A members gallery link is like this and they are sorted by whatever sort you set from what I see. My members gallery is by date newest first - ReefTalk Gallery
your gallery does not load for me

Chuck, would you take a look at my gallery once again? I don't know why it was down when you checked it. Again I checked again and I have "Most Active" set as my sort order default yet they aren't sorted that way.
Also, it looks like something fishy is going on with the sort on your site too. I looked at your gallery and under your members galleries section I clicked on your name. Then at the bottom of the page I chose to sort by "Last Comment", "Beginning", and "Descending" yet when I do that the first photo which should show the last comment doesn't have any comments at all. Instead it is the last photo that you uploaded. The second photo is also one with no comments. These were uploaded recently so perhaps it's from the recent upgrade?
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Chuck. I just realized something else. In my members galleries at the bottom of the page where you can select the next page of photos regardless of which page I choose it defaults back to the first page of results. I've got something screwed up somewhere but don't know where?

Chuck, when you say SEO are you talking about the spider friendly URL option? If so does it need to be set to "none" to work properly? I currently have it set to spider friendly and not the SEO option.
Thanks
Mike

The spider doesnt work either? I personally never tested spider urls I simply know the issue is most evident with SEO urls.

Chuck, I added the additional code to showgallery.php script and didn't notice any difference.
I saw where you were testing comments on your site so I tried yours again and it still won't sort by comment either: - ReefTalk Gallery If you sort by comment on that page (descending) the second picture has no comments.
I'm down to two problems
1) This sorting issue
2) Regardless of what page I choose to view in my members galleries it defaults back to the first page every time so I can't view but a handful of members galleries: *link removed*
Are both of these affected by SEO / Spider URLs?
Thank you,
Mike

Both of these issues have been addressed and fixed. The code I added to showgallery.php works. You can view my site and see this. I am awaiting word from Michael about announcing a release.

Sorry, I'm scratching my head over here and just want to make sure that I have understood everything that I should do. I see that your gallery is working fine now so I know I'm not doing something?
Edit: Also, is there a chance that me having spider URLs enabled affects it differently than you having SEO enabled?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike
I tried my site with spider urls it works fine because the spider urls the sort by uses regular old fashion link to normal urls for sort
My suggestion is to download the build upload all files except the config files install and upgrade files. delete your old .htaccess file and rename the HTACCESS file to .htaccess

Chuck, thanks for your patience with me. I did as you suggested. In fact I downloaded a new copy of V7 and saw that the code in showgallery.php has already been updated, but still I had the same issues. The only files I have changed are the config and inc_features files. The inc_features was edited because I am using a database external to vBulletin and a different id for mysql.
Finally I switched to SEO URLs and I believe everything works now except for one error.
On the personal albums index I get the following error:
Warning: Division by zero in /home/.../gallery/pp-inc.php on line 2002
That error appears regardless of whether I am logged in or not. I saw a couple of other threads on this same issue but didn't find a solution that worked. Basically I need to get the "per page" to stop defaulting to zero. Any advice for this one? I'm getting closer.
Thanks,
Mike
Edit: Chuck, I don't need the personal albums index so I just turned it off. Not a big deal for me. Thanks again for your time.

Division by zero in [path]/konkursy/pp-inc.php on line 2002 here too.
Also if sort order is changed to Alphabetical it is reverted to default when switching pages on Member galeries.

Try downloading the 12-30 build and upload everything except the config files and delete your old htaccess file and rename HTACCESS to .htaccess
