Question about links and protype=1

Chuck, Ive got a few quick questions that relate to PP PPC & PPR

If a user has no photos (reviews, or classifieds) how would I add a block to the protype=1 saying they have no, (ads, photos...) rather then a blank block like it is now. Also a link in the same notice block prompting them to upload.

And I would like to add a links in the vb header of the forum and thus respectively in all other integrated pages to Upload to the gallery, reviews, and classifieds where the link automatically takes them to the the above mentioned block in protype=1

Ive gotten this far but is there a better way?

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Sorry if this is in the wrong area Chuck.

Protype 1 is merely a gallery to display_gallery that shows a users photos much like the recent photos most popular random etc.

If your trying to modify anything then the display_gallery function is what you want to edit in pp-inc.php.

So I could add a block (table) saying they have no photos but I would like that to vanish if they do. I have no ideal what type of code to use for that.

Below is some examples. 1st is what I have now if a user has no ad's or photo or reviews in the profile. What Im trying to accomplish is something like the 2nd photo.

And any tips on that generic link to this same protype=1 from anywhere. Please see the code snip-it above. Is that acceptable or is there a better way?

the link you posted looks fine to me

as far as anything else yes you could mod anything you want I was merely saying be careful what you do because that function as I pointed out controls all the featured photo blocks.

Any pointers? Do you know of any mods that could at least get me started?

Not off the top of my head. Sorry as a general rule I dont involve myself in code modifications too much. My job keeps me entirely too busy with supporting the default products.

Thanks anyways Chuck.

Hopefully someday the powers that be will integrate PP with VB better. Options for one profile or add PP into the VB profile would be best. Maybe use one script as the base code and the others as add on's. While digging in all three I see allot is the same so combining the three doesn't see totally off. Maybe PP as the base and PPC and PPR as additional scripts keeping one profile among them all. Having 4 profiles is a real pain and confuses my members.

Funny how PP still keeps its product as a stand alone or as an option for other integrations. If only they took a look at the replies right here. For Vb theres over 300 threads to integrate. For UBB theres 3 and for others 76. Just mho I would think a better integration with VB would be in their best interest.

Anyways enough of that.

Chuck your the best and I appreciate the time you took to try and help. BTW Ive gotta figure out the best way to make it appear like theres only one profile.

The problem is all applications are simply put there own applications. We cant limit reviewpost or classifieds. There are many users who use just those products and no gallery. each one has its own market. If you only want one profile in your gallery then maybe use vbGallery although yes you would lose some features that are in Pro. Photopost Pro the integration is the same meaning header footer and style used but Photopost Pro will always be a full featured product that integrates with 20 different products. Our vbulletin community is large yes but so is the standalone market. It is simply not concievable to do everything users want. I made a plugin that shows pro gallery stuff in vb profiles here

http://www.photopost.com/forum/photo...n-4-0-3-x.html

There maybe in the future a switch to go to the forum profile versus gallery profile there has been that talk but as always you need to weigh the needs versus the reality and what you can support. I can tell you just releasing that little vb mod has been a pain in the neck because users levels of expertise vary and their expectations expect me solving all there issues and we dont support code mods.

You could possibly use that mod and maybe hardcode all the profile links in the gallery to go to your forum.
