mod_fcgid: read data timeout in 40 seconds - workaround?

Hi,

I had to move my pp_pro to a new hardware due to a broken hard drive.
The new system has an apache with mpm_worker and uses mod_fcgi.

Runs good, looks well ... but, if I scan the database as it is possible in the administration part of pp_pro for searching any lost pictures and thumbnails, the system stops after some time with:
mod_fcgid: read data timeout in 40 seconds

So there seems to be a problem with mod_fcgi in not accepting changed settings and I can compile a new one with other settinngs.

Since I don't like to do that, I wonder if there is any other solution to that problem?
After 36 hours of work it might be possible that I can't see any obvious solution - sorry for that.

Sounds like that is pretty much like limiting PHP to a time limit of 40 seconds. Now in php you can use ini_set line in a script to raise that timeout but it appears from what your saying this freeBSD thing does not allow altering settings it needs to be install with specific settings. I have not heard too much about that program but if thats what you must do then by all means do it.

Really you probally want to ask the mod_fcgi people as this is more of a server software question

Hi Chuck,

thanks for the early answer.
I was afraid to hear something like that, seems I am really good at stumbling upon things only few of us will ever see.

I will post a solution if I find it - or at least a picture of the broken window the server went through ...

well server software issues are a part of the server game.

mod_fcgid ignoring FastCGI config settings? - Vox

Maybe that will help you
