Integrating Photopost with vbAdvanced

I am attempting to switch my site from vbPortal to vbAdvanced CMPS and am having no luck integrating Photopost with an integration page in vbAdvanced. The integration works fine with any of my vBulletin pages but fails to work with Photopost, Photopost Classifieds and Reviewpost. I have tried using the This_Script method and the Other Filename method with no success.

Am I doing something incorrectly or does PP, PP Classifieds and RP just not work with vbAdvanced?

That question might best be asked to the vbadvanced guys.

Unfortunately between your answer and what I get at vbAdvanced, I find myself in an endless loop and I'm the hot potato no one will help or provide an answer to. I gather there is bad blood between your organizations.

I can't believe I'm the only one facing the dilemma posed by vBulletin 4 Suite and the problems at vbPortal. vbAdvanced appears to be the best solution going into the future but now I find that, for whatever reasons, none of the All Enthusiasts products I have licensed can be displayed properly in the vbAdvanced portal.

It would seem to me that since your products are commercial that you would be seeking a solution to this instead of bouncing me back to vbAdvanced who has nothing to gain.

This has nothing to do with bad blood. The issue is this. We integrate with vbulletin that is our claim and we do it quite well. We will continue to integrate with vbulletin even when vb 4.0 goes gold. We make no claims to integrate with vbadvanced products but your question is based on how to integrate with vbadvanced. We dont use vbadvanced products therefore there is no way we can answer your question. Its really a vbadvanced question. I think if I follow your question is how to you get the vbadvanced sidebar to show on non vbulletin pages? right? I think that is best answered at vbadvanced since your dealing with there code. vbPortals sidebar shows automatically on our product.

If your asking how to show photopost content on your vbadvanced portal then your probally wanting to look in the MOD CORNER to see if there are any mods you can use to do that. Since stuff like that would be outside the product support.

Yes but there's the rub.

I have been a Photopost licensee since 2003 because it was recommended by and worked fine in vbPortal. The same is true with Classifieds and Reviewpost which we recently licensed and have not yet turned on for our members.

Now it would appear that vbPortal may never develop beyond it's current version and we have little confidence that salvaging six years of photo and content accumulation will be of much concern to the vBulletin folks. So we are looking to switch portals in hopes that we will then be able to continue to evolve in an orderly fashion without totally disrupting our site.

As your customer, we had an expectation of vBulletin compatibility and we also had an expectation of continued compatibility with our CMS software. It may not be a problem of your making but it is a problem nonetheless in which your software is highly involved. We are seeking a solution to replacing our CMS which has, in all likelihood reached the end of its development. The response I get from vbAdvanced is that they cannot provide a solution to integrating your applications for "legal reasons". But I'm just a customer that is being placed in a situation of nothing but bad choices.

So whatever your feelings are about the extent of your claims, the bottom line is that I'm faced with no good options and end up the loser. Yes, all I want is for the vbAdvanced left column blocks to show up in the same way that the vbPortal ones currently do. I will check in the Mod Corner but previous searches haven't panned out very well.

Is there any other CMS available that would be a solution worth looking at?

I can understand what your saying but we never made any claims to support any vbulletin CMS. None of those products are vbulletin they are vbulletin addon's or whatever you want to call them. vbPortal just happens to work automatically with any page using the vbulletin navbar. The issue your facing really is not something we can answer as its not a photopost product support question. I could not tell you the first thing about vbadvanced products.

Your question still comes down to a vbadvanced support question and if your getting the run around from them why not ask a general question of how do you get vbadvanced sidebar to show on non vb pages. Ask a general question I am sure they will have to answer your there customer and they should be able to answer generally.

Personally I think vbPortal vbAdvanced any of these companies will be history with the release of vbulletin 4 since it is going to have its own CMS but thats just a personal opinion.

The only thing I see remotely close might be this but its quite old.
