Question •Images stored on disk in a directory rather than in the database ?

Hello,

I see one feature of Photopost which is :
Quote:
Images stored on disk in a directory rather than in the database, which allows them to be cached by browsers, saving bandwidth.
That feature is already configured by default or do i have to configure it ?
If no, please tell me where do i have to parameter it, for storing images in a directory rather than in the database

Thanks.

files are stored in the data directory. If you want your gallery to load like

photopost.mydomain.com

thats something you do in your hosting setup with subdomains.

Hmmm i see

But is it possible to store uniquely the 'data/files/etc' in "subdomain1 ( subdomain1.domain.com )" than "data directory" ?

Reason : The "subdomain1" can be pointed to 'server 1' if the "subdomain1" has no more spaces. Later i can then create another which is like "subdomain2" ( pointed to 'server 2' with new spaces ), you see what i mean..

No sorry it does not work like that

any subdomain on a server is usually setup by the server.

Yeap, if you don't mind, it's very great and useful for any 'Administrators' if or for other futur of Photopost has these features :

- ability to store images in 'subdomain1, subdomain2, subdomain3, etc' ( for example like ImageShack who use also 'subdomain' system ),
- ability to store images/datas in different server like 'server IP1, server IP2, server IP3, etc',
- ability to backup images/datas "automaticly" into different specified server like 'server IP1, server IP2, server IP3, etc'.

Those features are not only searched by me, but by others persons too, especially people or group who want to have a Big Sharing Site against or like Flickr

You can make product suggestions in the suggestions forum for the appropriate product. That way the developer of the product will see them. I actually develop our two other products reviewpost and classifieds.
