cannot see my images !

I am running photo-post pro with vB 3.8 integration. I had a few categories created with images uploaded and could even see a thumbnail next to each created category. Earlier today I started having trouble when I was attempting to upload images which would not take or get uploaded through the usual procedure to upload. I went into the CP to see if there was any settings I could change in an attempt to fix this problem. I ran the 'Scan Data' link to rebuild thumbnails, and also checked the permissions . After doing this I found that on vB I could no longer see my images in the various categories that I had created before. The columns do indicate that there are images, but I no longer can see the small thumbnail next to each of the categories, and I cannot even access any of the images.

Any suggestion on what I might try to change in the CP. Please help.

Thanks

well my suggestion is this because it sounds to me like your host changed your server paths and did not tell you.

If you try running a rebuild with improper paths which means it can not find photos it will delete database entries since the photos do not exist

You need to do this

1. restore a backup of your photos table in photopost

2. in admin global options and storage options make sure the proper full server path to your data directory has been entered correctly.

Please clarify about the back up. I can't remember where my photopost table should have been before it got deleted. Could the table have been in my database (MYSQL), in the same database where everything else is for vBulletin ?. I just checked the vBulletin database and I don't see a table named photopost, or could there have been a separate database named photopost ?. I can't remember how it was set-up. I need to know this before I check with my provider if they do automatic backups, because I did not do one myself.

Chuck,

Could you please also clarify, if the proper fuller server path you are referring to above, is the the data directory on server OR the path to my MYSQL database. Which one should I enter for the path.

Secondly, in searching for the photopost table in my database I see several tables that have the prefix PP_ and was wanting to know which one do I restore.

Thanks

regular backups of your mysql databases and server files are normal site maintenance routines every webmaster should be doing. You can not restore missing data if you dont have this.

Your photopost photos are stored in a pp_photos table in whatever database you have your photopost.

As stated if you have cleared your photos because of an invalid server path you simply want to input the proper server paths and restore a backup of your photos table. that should resolve your issue. If you dont have a backup then your kinda stuck starting over.
