Problem with "recent photos" showing above contest photos

We have a contest in which "recent photos" is showing above contest thumbnails. We have "recent photos" set to show below the contest. Really we don't need recent photos at all in a contest. How do we make this behave?

Your only option is to not show recent thumbnails on the showphoto and showgallery pages which you can turn off display features under show photo options in admin.
