push additional fields to member gallery

I have member galleries and I cant seem to push my additional fields to them, I am able to push additional fields to all other categories and this works fine. Is this suppose to be this way? I run an astrophotography site and I want the same basic information on all photo's to be standardized.

I am not sure what you mean by push additional fields.

If I assign an extra field to the members category it certainly shows on upload when I go to input data for the photo.

additional fields

I have lots and lots of member galleries. What I want to do is set the additional fields at the uppermost level and use the checkbox to have them propagate to all children. Does that make sense?

Yes well why cant you? The apply to children function does not care if the category id is 500 or not. You should be apply an extra field to a direct subcategory of the parent category.

not sure why, but If I go to the member galleries category and set the additional fields there, and select the box at bottom to propagate to the children it does not work on my personal galleries that I have set up. I would expect it to work as it does work on all regular categories.

Gene,

If your talking personal albums no its not going to work. Personal albums are not categories and as such they do not have additional extra fields.
