Set up headers in the categories?

In my example "Cars" is in a separate "header", I want to do the same thing for "Trucks" and "Test". Tried creating a new top level category but they always end up done the hierarchy. What am I missing? (I'm not even sure how I got the "Cars" to show up!) TIA

You would go to admin edit categories and edit say Trucks and set contains images to NO. That should be it.
